Guessing that all the Pickens $$ went to the athletic department and not to NIL coffers. Barta didn't get this either.Gundy had that program running really good for a while. With all that Pickens money it’s kind of surprising how far the’ve fallen. I wonder what happened?
I’d bet a significant amount of money he doesn’t make it to NovemberNo way he's the HC in 2026
He could've had a Nick Saban type career and I would still only remember him as a 40 year old man with a sweet mullet.
Gotta have hair first!A sweet mullet cannot be overestimated
That mullet alone shows how little he cares. He clearly doesn’t care.
OK, I was one day early. Man, tough to fire a guy with all of that equity built up in the program but that's how it is today. What have you done for me lately! You have to wonder if he makes it to Monday. They've lost something like 12 games in a row. And are probably staring down the barrel at a 0-12 season. Yikes!
Well, not winning one game in conference play last year didn't help.OK, I was one day early. Man, tough to fire a guy with all of that equity built up in the program but that's how it is today. What have you done for me lately!
He was the second longest tenured coach besides KF I believe too. Same thought went through my head about how Gundy went out. I see in his clause they want him to be part of the selection for a new hire.I always thought Gundy was the Big 12s version of KF. Been a round a long time. Generally in the upper half of the conference. Nationally relevant every once in a while, but not consistently. Made the news a few times for off the field stuff, but generally pretty well regarded nationally.
They both have way different styles and approaches though.
I really hope that this is not how KF ends up going out, but most coaches are told to stop coaching, they do not choose to stop coaching.
