Guess who...

Need to just put this on a T-shirt. Says it all.

I was a fan of Baer last season, but kept thinking "If he could just develop his jump shot, the guy would really be a force". Well guess what? Guy's been on fire from 3 - so looks like he's really been working on that part of his game. He's really turning into a more complete player. Love it!

Best 6th Man in the country, greatest walk on (scratch that, former walk on) ever, etc. etc. You name it.

I don't know if he's fine with not being a starter, but he never complains about it. Another intangible positive he brings to the team. For that matter, the same is true for the rest of the guys off the bench. Fran's done a good job of keeping everybody happy - winning helps.

I love that the team we are playing has to deal with Cook and Jok to start the game and there's no break because these guys can go get a breath and in comes Baer and Pemsl.

I know some were complaining we have too deep of a rotation but I think it's really starting to play to our advantage because our guys are almost always fresh.

"Baer is going to go down as the biggest fan favorite in Iowa history. And rightfully so."

While he has been great, no player will go down as a better fan favorite than Mr. Chris Street. He is/was the most loved Iowa player, IMO.

Unfortunately he's the product of his own success, or however you say that. He is the PERFECT guy to have come off the bench, simply for the fact that he has a great overall game and brings energy. It's better than, say, bringing in a shooter that lacks defense or rebounding, for example.

Having this type of player is such a luxury because they have no weakness and the team can still thrive when they come in. Defenses can't just leave him. He is the perfect 6th man and he ends up with just as many if not more minutes in a game so it doesn't really matter.

Really the 6th man is kind of a specialized position or player and not all fit the bill. Good coaches identify who would fill this role on their team the best. If it's the right team or coach, being designated as the 6th man should really be a compliment if it is done correctly. Just my $.02.
