I'm assuming you're trolling with this post, but I'll humor those who may not know it.Kirk said he might add a grad transfer at RB. Here’s some interesting candidates that I had found.
C.J. Fuller-Clemson
Terence Williams-Baylor
Jeremy Smith-Louisville
Demarcus Felton-Texas Tech
Feel free to add any names that any of you may have heard.
I was too lazy to look up who any of those dudes even were.. I figured the Clemson kid may have been a former 5 star talent but yeah if that's who they are pass pass pass... I'd rather snag a couple of good RBs in this next class. I really like Young and Kelly-Martin. Hoping they stay healthy and for this year they should do more than fine (assuming the line replaces Daniels and Welch adequately)I'm assuming you're trolling with this post, but I'll humor those who may not know it.
CJ Fuller - Uhh...he's out of jail on $25,000 bond waiting for his court date. For armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Can't leave the state due to his ankle bracelet so I think it might be tough to schedule a visit. But Kirk's a pretty savvy guy, maybe he could work some magic with the judge. Jesus dude.
Terrence Williams - Suspended from the team once and almost kicked off the team twice. Yeeeeaaahhh no. I don't see Kirk bringing him on board.
Jeremy Smith - Broken the same foot twice and hasn't practiced or played since the second week of last year's football season.
Demarcus Felton - 500 yards in 3 seasons of playing and transferring because he's not good enough to play FBS football. The whole point of finding a grad transfer is getting a guy like Butler who was way too good for where he was at, not someone who sucked. What is the upside of bringing him here over Young or Kelly-Martin? Makes no sense.
Bringing in grad transfers in consecutive years at the same spot isn't exactly good for recruiting either.I was too lazy to look up who any of those dudes even were.. No doubt. The thing about last yr when we brought in Butler was he was looking for a place to go first. It just kinda fell in where it worked for both sides. We have 2 pretty good guys now along with Bryan from last yrs class and Geil in this one (can't count on Toks sounds like him ever suiting up again is a long shot) So there's no immediate need for one. There's really not. Now I hope I'm not jinxing that but it'd take some unseen attrition for that to happen.Bringing in grad transfers in consecutive years at the same spot isn't exactly good for recruiting either.
Like in basketball, needing to go that route more than sparingly indicates a deeper problem and I don't think we're at that point yet with football.
Yeah that's not how anyone hoped the year would have went for him. Seems like a great guy that was easy to root for. If he hadn't gotten nicked up and then seriously injured he'd have been used a lot more I'm sure. That's football for ya. The guy was durable as all get out during his time at Nevada. Had a ton of touches and played great out there. But couldn't hardly stay on the field at Iowa. Just too bad. At least we got to see glimpses of it and it wasn't like he didn't get to play at all.Butler always wanted to be a Hawkeye too - I was happy to see him finally get a TD late in the season and that he was able to be closer to living his dream than Moonlight Graham, felt terrible that his season went the way it did though![]()

Yeah unless someone gets seriously hurt I think RB is in great shape too. I don't see the urgency of needing a plug and play grad transfer RB right now. I would say center and or guard as well... preferably coming from a similar style of offense...I think we are fine, if not better than fine at rb.
If I were to guess one position that maybe could use a grad transfer, it would be nt. But we do have Noah coming in and I didn't know this until awhile back, but while maybe a little lighter than I would prefer, the ones we do have were pretty good athletes, tough as nails type athletes.
But I can't see redshirting Noah, we are going to need to bring him up fast and probably another nt as well.
Hopefully we get to see Nixon at some point.

Basically every position we named isn't necessarily a urgency of need from a talent of starters, it's a rotation and depth need. But we could see a few come out of nowhere this summer as well. Stranger things have happened before.Yeah unless someone gets seriously hurt I think RB is in great shape too. I don't see the urgency of needing a plug and play grad transfer RB right now. Under normal circumstances, yeah, I think having to rely upon grad transfers at one position would be a concern, but, when looked at in the context of losing both Bryan and Toks due to injuries, I think most recruits would understand. If both of those players were 100% healthy, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.Bringing in grad transfers in consecutive years at the same spot isn't exactly good for recruiting either.

I think people are a little gun shy after so many went down years ago. While I agree being prepared is a good idea, but I don't live my life expecting the worst case scenario either. In the grand scheme of the program and all of football that was a rarity.Under normal circumstances, yeah, I think having to rely upon grad transfers at one position would be a concern, but, when looked at in the context of losing both Bryan and Toks due to injuries, I think most recruits would understand. Either way, at Iowa, there is no such thing as having too much depth at RB.
