Johnnie Vassar is a trainwreck currently suing NW and has been out of basketball for 3 years now. Hard pass :)

The full story never came out but it sounds like Collins tried to pull his scholarship and Nassar fought it. He agreed to transfer but only if he didn't have to sit out a year. From what I remember none of that worked out and he stayed in school at NW, on scholarship, but not on the actual basketball team. Super weird situation.

No way he ends up here but definitely can't fault the kid for his logic. An education from NW will open a lot of doors outside of basketball.

What a mess. I don't want to begin to speculate on what all happened throughout this ordeal. My observation is strictly basketball related. Nothing in this article suggests Vassar is playing any basketball whatsoever or working to maintain his skills or improve. He's obviously not getting any coaching. I don't want the kid because there is nothing to suggest he is ready to play...for Iowa, a mid major or anyone else.
