Good old coach K

Nebraska got more than they expected with this guy. Yikes.

Not sure whether Ferentz fired him or did the old trick where he didn't "renew" his contract.

Either way, KF knew that this guy was toxic and couldn't be at Iowa any longer. I'm surprised he was ever on KF's coaching staff. Must have given one hell of an interview.

I just came here to post this article, but looks like you beat me to it awhile ago.

Pretty sure Kaz is the only coach Ferentz has ever fired and he did so in a very professional manner without saying a word publically or throwing him under the bus. That's the kind of person Ferentz is. This is the kind of person Kaz is. Complete *********. He's really hurting his chances at ever finding another job.

What? Kaz is just very "opinionated" and likes sharing his opinions on his old program even when he is not there anymore. He just wants to "tell it like it is".

Whats wrong with that?

(ok, that was my attempt at sarcasm)

My understanding is that Coach K played at Notre Dame under Joe Moore, who was KF's mentor, so with that connection, he got the job. Obviously it didn't come close to working out and KF canned him, but couched it in the media release that K was "leaving" the program.

I think Coach Ferentz can come under criticism for not getting rid of Coach K before extensive damage was done. I say that while generally being a supporter of Ferentz. Ferentz is not only conservative by nature, but he also has a tenancy to hunker down, to stick with the status quo despite indications it is not working, and avoid making critical decisions. In this case Coach K's behavior was clearly toxic, but Ferentz continued to give him the benefit of the doubt far too long.

Thankfully Reese Morgan's skills at developing talent are second to none and he has the defensive line pretty much back where they should be.

I live in Omaha and listen to local sports radio, the kool aid drinkers here have their heads so far in the sand they're drinking oil. Nebraska's program is a dumpster fire and the topic today was how if they "figure it out" they have the talent to run the table. Unreal

I worked in Kearney for a short time, and the hard core Husker fans have such a distorted view of reality it's hard to comprehend unless you actually live in the environment for a while. It's borderline psychosis. I think some of it comes from having literally nothing else in the state. Zero. No other big school, no pro team anything. There's Husker football, and a bunch of dirt.

I finally opened this because I was curious what the real coach K did to warrent 2 pages of posts. I should have known it was that Dbag.
