Good look at what the Big Ten may resemble next season

When people disagree with you; nothing but insults in return...

It would be nice to see facts.

I don't agree with the expectations that some have here for Gesell and Woodbury, but that is their opinion...no need to constantly attack people for it.

For the first time in a while I think Iowa's freshman that will start won't have to be relied upon and be main contributors. This will allow them to come in and just play ball.

As for people saying there could be a lot of competition on who starts at PG, I don't agree. Having seen Clemmons in person and looking at his stats...he does take a lot of risk and turns the ball over at times. In the game I watched him, he had 3 to's in the first two minutes of the game, just by making bad choices. He played better as the game went along...he would be great to bring off the bench to get a feel for the game. Gesell starts no question in my mind, but I see both he and Clemmons playing a lot together when Iowa chooses to go small.

yeah right i throw insult. i am the one that gets called names constantly and get ridiculed for any expectation i have or a opinion on a player, it is as i said i am not allowed to have a opinion or defend my opinion, i am the one that has to endure attacks and being called names.
but you keep sticking up for those that do attack and call me names.
last time i checked the 1st amendment was still in place in stating a opinion with out fear of retaliation or censorship by being banned for what I post as a opinion

either way he still puts Olideapo into the status of being the most dangerous player in the country and has a pg leading them to a BTT and a #1 or 2 seed in the BT, yeah right. that's right out of a comic book or fantasy land out look on a best case scenario and he has Iowa as a afterthought

The writer didn't say that is what's going to happen. He said the best case scenario. And if oladipo DOES develop a consistent jump shot, he WILL be incredibly dangerous. Few humans possess the athleticism and explosiveness oladipo does.

also i have not seen anyone post their expectation of Gesell other than me, and how are they outlandish or unattainable
of
8 ppg
4 apg
2 rpg
1 spg and a T/O avg of no more than 3 pg
gee you really don't have any faith in Gesell do you?

Here is my question: how is the author wrong...he puts in a best case and worst case scenario...Oladipo has all the tools, but no jumper...if he ever got one with his ability to drive he would be an NBA lottery pick. Both scenarios are credible.

Both of the Iowa scenarios are credible as well, either and NCAA lower seeded team, or an NIT team. If he had written Iowa not making, or having a chance for postseason then I would agree, but having Iowa in the postseason either way is credible.

Don't lump me in with everyone or saying that I defend them...you dig your own hole by not letting things go...

There have been plenty give their numbers on Gesell, you must have missed it. If he does what you predict then he will have a very good freshman season.

i actually gave a similar prediction for gesell in another thread. those arent burke numbers. i am not saying he is bad or downgrading gesell because i have seen the kid play in person and know what he is capable of. i am trying to figure out how saying not to expect him to blow up like burke did is saying the kid isnt very good. it is being logical because 99% of freshmen dont do what burke and zeller did. i have admitted that he could do great. but others wont accept the fact that he might not be ready for it also. dont give me the aau argument because their are kids that get great rankings from aau and then flop in college.

i dont believe he will flop. i think he will be good. i want people to realize he may not live up to their expectations. woodbury too.

i have given predictions on the rotation and points and everything that are actually pretty optimistic. in fact i predicted like 80 pts per game as a team and 5 assts per pg (gesell and clemmons). but you guys are right i am downgrading the players and the team.

my original question for the author would be. why is it you perdict such high things for Indiana and yet predict as a best case scenario as slipping in the BD with a 7 or 8 seed,
White returning as a Freshman AA. All he can say is White has to bulk up to prove himself.
i would think a team that has a top 25 class with a FR AA being a sophamore and 6 out of the top 8 scorers you can predict a lot more than 7th place and a 7th or 8th seed in the Dance. and to say Iowa choked in game is a long reach to put a backhanded copmment toward Iowa, Iowa did not choke away any games

That was an awful and biased account of what the league will look like next year. And that makes it as worthwhile as any other prognostication.

this and is why i said it was comic book worthy, or Fantasy land. and you can clearly tell it was a Hoosier that wrote it.
myself i will go on record with my prediction and OPINION of a 4th or 5th place finish in the BT and 20 + wins and a 6th or 7th seed at worst in the BD
