Gentlemen.

Yeah, how the defender hit him is irrelevant. He used forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless player. That call was probably the worst, followed by overturning the catch.

That is exactly what the rule says and anyone with even one eye could see it was targeting. I am sick and tired of seeing the eye in the sky overturn officials' calls in inexplicable ways. Maybe should just leave it up to the refs.

I wasn’t fond of the over turned targeting call either. Granted the defender used most of his shoulder but he lead with his helmet.
If it’s a blow to the head of a defenseless player, which ISM was in this case, any blow to the head is considered targeting, including leading with the shoulder.

Same for when they don’t call forward progress until half the team starts piling on. That is probably one of the most dangerous situations when you get 1000lbs moving in one direction or another with no way to stop it. Great way to get stepped on or rolled into your knees

Correct, no contact to the head is allowed. Doesn’t have to be a helmet. Would be very upset if we hadn’t pulled it out.

If Stanley would have played the entire game with the same intensity that he did on that last drive this game would have been over at the end of the third quarter.

Why wasnt Brian Ferentz calling for some deeper pass plays throughout the game. Man we mostly had short passes to the sides called. Tracy and ISM should be going deep and often and tight ends down the hash marks

Love how Duncan gives Nebby the Dikembe Mutombo finger swag
I hope they were looking at 19DB and I’m not thinking of defensive back.

I don’t like that kind of unsportsmanlike crap but Nebby was dishing it all game so ...

Have at it boys. I’m with you on this!

Yeah. Had nothing to do with his intensity.

Nate has proved the last 3 games that when they take the leash off of him that he can make those throws.

That call made me furious. Not only because it was terrible, but such a blatant disregard for a player's safety and health all because the refs were too chickenshit to make the call.
The refs made the call. Replay overturned it.
At the very least should have been unnecessary roughness and then let booth decide if it was targeting.

It was both and the refs and booth blew both calls

The Big Ten makes a lot more money if Nebby goes to a bowl. The refs tried to make it happen.
I really thing their huddle after the FG was trying to figure out how they could make the FG go away.

It absolutely was. They couldn't figure out a call to negate the FG, and in the process, forgot to call taunting on Duncan and make the Hawks kick from our own 20.

He tilted his head during the hit. #1 to try and get a helmet to helmet or #2 he drove his shoulder pads so hard into someone's head, his own head responded to the force he was applying.
These guys want to play like MSU. Oh I didn't mean to, oh he is hurting me.
They should be ashamed of themselves and so should the refs.
Jesus, I have never seen a more pussy way out.
Dude falls over 3 seconds after a off sides?
Pathetic.
But what do you expect from a program that celebrates Suh. Dirtiest player in modern history.

It's the million dollar question that never gets answered. This would help the running game, too.

Their job is to sell the conference.

Wonder if the replay official in the booth was the retired Dave Witvoet? Those overturned calls had his fingerprints all over them!

It's the combination of the two that's hard to swallow, then when you factor in the BS personal foul they called and the roughing the kicker call, it's was a clear indication that the refs had their marching orders.

Ya that was strange, also the standing in front of the ball on the punt and calling the delay as well as standing around Stanley when he was trying to spike. I don't think I've ever seen that before, weird.
