Gary Barta listed as candidate to take over at Minnesota

Have we not seen this enough...?

These "lists" might as well be put together by 13 yr-olds in study hall. (and they very well may be) They mean next-to-nothing.

Yeah, this makes lots of sense. A guy who moved up from Wyoming to a school with a cash-rich football program and exceptional (to put it lightly) alumni support (as in $$$) wants to jump to a school that has struggled badly for years...and will always be second banana to the pro sports franchises just a few miles away.

if he leaves, please let it be someone with connections to T. Boone Pickens or Mr. Nike. Maybe they'll feel sorry for us and kick us a couple measly scraps....$10mm here, $10mm there.....

Kirk Ferentz

He can then promote KOK to HC. KOK proceeds to implement a spread offensive scheme and begins recruiting scramble-style quarterbacks from Texas/Oklahoma/Nebraska.

I would love to see Gable, however, I would hate it if he ended up catching heat like Barta/Mason do.

I'm no fan of Gary Barta but I would be very afraid of what would happen to Iowa athletics if Sally Mason were to have the opportunity to hire the next AD. That being said I have little doubt that Gary Barta is fully aware of this fact.

This. Especially the 13-year-old part.

Exactly.

I LOL'd immediately reading the thread title.
