Game Day in IC on 22 September???

No, Iowa is unranked and will continue to be. Wisconsin will be favored by 10 points in this game. I just don't see it having the juice necessary to attract ESPN.
You may be right but I don’t think Wiscy will be favored by that much. I’m thinking more like 3 to 5 points. We’ll see.

I take Iowa to cover 10 points at home any time. I still give them a 25% to win the game out right, but no way is the spread more than a TD.

I am hearing that FOX (who apparently gets first choice now for B1G games) will be broadcasting the Iowa-Wisconsin game. No time given yet, but that probably takes care of GameDay coming to Iowa City.

In theory, though, a game in Iowa City, thanks to "the Wave" would indeed be attractive to the GameDay folks. When you can combine a super football game with a super human interest story, that's what GameDay wants. But again, I doubt they come into FOX territory, esp. with the BTN already in town.

Nebby has brand power equivalent to Kmart these days
Want a "guaranteed unfriending"? Say that to any Nebraska fan who may be your friend on FACEBOOK. Most of them are still living firmly in the Tom Osborne era, if not the Bob Devaney era.

ESPN ain't touching a game they don't have broadcast rights on unless it is absolutely necessary, meaning that it is the Iron Bowl with Bama and Auburn both at 11-0 and the game's on CBS or something like that.

They were at Notre Dame/Michigan week 1, an NBC game, and could have chosen others.

The only other decent game that Saturday was Auburn-Washington and that was a neutral site game in the middle of sprawl hell in Atlanta. Michigan/ND was a no-brainer.

They are at the SEC championship game in Atlanta almost every year.

Gameday also went to the Big Ten Championship when we went, despite other championship games going on. That was also a Fox game.

This thread was absolutely a great laugh, now that Fox has announced a 7:30 prime time spot for the Iowa/Badger game. Yeah, I guess someone thinks it will be worth watching. BTN announced long ago that they would be in Iowa City for their Tailgate show, well before the start time was announced. Game Day, when Fox has the telecast. Funny.

ESPN goes off network for Gameday. They already did this year. They went to a Fox game in Indy for the Big Ten Championship even, the year we went. Further, BTN Tailgate and College Gameday have totally been in the same city before. Just last season. Oct 27th Penn State at Ohio State. What network was that game on? Fox.

Here's my homework:

Will it happen? Eh probably not. But I want it to happen, and it can happen, and every issue you have brought up has been dealt with or overcome before. Gameday we want you here! Please make my dream come true!

Did not know ESPN Gameday covered games TV'd by other networks...thanks for the correction. My comment on BTN was just a comment. I had read/heard they would be in IC long ago for the WI game.

Is it wrong to say that maybe, just maybe, it's time to give Corso a slightly smaller role on the Gameday program? I know I said that like 5 years ago at least. There is a football analyst out there waiting for his big opportunity to get on game day, but somehow Corso has become the mascot or something. It's an amazing gesture by ESPN to keep him after his health issues and continue to support him, but at some point...doesn't it become about the competency to perform the job. He's gotten hard to watch. I'm not trying to be cold...just curious if others are thinking the same thing.

His role is smaller. David Pollock takes his spot for a lot of the show

Hey now, this board doesn't do well with actual facts and evidence. We only tolerate faulty logic and careless speculation.

Corso makes like 7 bucks a week performing his schtick. Slightly more than Van Pelt. Times are tough at the World Wide Leader in Sports.

Three stipulations in Corso's contract:
1. No one can mention his coaching record.
2. He gets to share a motel room with The Bear.
3. He must be back in time for Bingo.
