Fran...

I don't think he knows how to fix it. He's gotta be hoping they win 2 more and trip into the dance just to get some heat off him. This team is what it is, looking forward to next season. Our best talent is young and should do better next year

Marble is arguably our best player and he's gone next season. This team loses him and McCabe and adds next to no impact players in this recruiting class. Fran has got to find an instant impact transfer or JUCO player that is like a Royce White, DeAndre Kane at Iowa State. Those guys make a huge difference. If Iowa had one of those types of players we may are scary good. I'm done criticizing how Hoiberg and ISU build that team. They are winning with NBA talent on their roster. Iowa has none and that's a huge flaw in this team. We may have 11 guys but none of them are great. Rather have 1 or 2 great players.

Or here is a thought... with less than 5 minutes to play, why not play Gabe and Woody? We have already seen your rotations **** games down their collective legs.... what do you have to lose? When we need rebounds or guarding the inbounds pass, our big guys are on the bench!

Amen. This team is so frustrating and predictable -

Fran will cross his arms and go bazerk on the refs the entire game. You can tell they just love him

Fran will save a good chunk of his timeouts. ?? Still. dont. comprehend.

We will play victim and hang our heads and pout if every call doesnt go our way.

We will run a pitiful half court offense. I am being nice.

We will only make 1 of 2 free throws when it really counts. Always solid and never maddening

Btw, do we actually have REAL plays and do we actually practice free throws or do we just practice 'Dougying' all day in a circle? Im serious as a heart attack.

White will decide to join the party late.

We will keep shooting 3s no matter if they go in or not. Siiick

Gotta love the white boy from Iowa... Good ol' Zach, I think he's the man and I'd love to crush some brews with him but why on earth is he shooting when everyone and their mother's mother (besides Fran) knows he's having an off night? Keep hustling but by golly..

Why don't we toss the rock into Woody and Gabe more often and let them bang instead of doing our awesome ;picks up top and figure 8 over and over....and over.......aaaaaand over until Zach or Marble decides it's time to chuck up another 3 and pray? MORE DEPTH PREASE AND THANK YOU

As this season progresses, looking back on all the blown leads, the unnecessarily excessive outbursts that directly contributed to losses, and, coincidentally, the never-ending shift changes / horribly inept personnel decisions at inopportune times, I can definitely say that my honeymoon with Fran is over.

It's gotten to the point where I don't want to listen to him talk about challenging his players' toughness. I don't want to hear him sing the praises of Zach's and Josh's and Pete's shooting prowess. I especially don't want to hear him talk about how he needs to get so and so in the game more. I'm growing tired of his shtick about how so and so is "spectacular" ... while they watch from the bench at crucial times of the game after helping to build or maintain a lead. Meanwhile, those "spectacular" shooters are clanking quick outside shots and getting overwhelmed on D.

His dogmatic line changes are breaking this team and he's completely oblivious to it. That's the sign of a coach who's not ready to manage success, let alone ready for prime time.

He challenged Iowa fans to "get Mad, again". I'm mad, alright.

I understand why Fran does the whole 3 fouls sit thing but Gesell was on the pine for way to long. He has most of the leadership with the ball. You have to play him in a tight game like that.

When gesell went out with 3 osu pushed the lead and when he came back Iowa started to chip back away.

Why? Marble at the point was totally ineffective.

Nice troll attempt clone

I have said from the pre-season our rotation and depth is going to cause us fits down the stretch. You are seeing it happen right now before our eyes. Olaseni has no rhythm to his minutes at all, heck the announcers said tonight that Iowa is not even the same team without him on the floor. McCabe getting minutes, Ogelsby getting minutes, Jok getting minutes...too many bodies and we need to settle on a rotation of 8 to 9 tops and the rest are gravy train minutes. Until this happens we will flounder and not have an identity. When we go with Marble running the show we turn into a dribble fest, and Craft made us pay for that with strips. We are weak, and a physical style of play simply kills us. We are what we are folks!

Spot on.

This is something I have mentioned before, play a high low game with them, especially now that both are hitting FT's and GO is showing some real post moves. Gabe is athletic enough to guard a lot of different people, but he still gets out of position and looks silly at times. However, if he had Woodbury helping him with the way Woodbury communicates, I think it would benefit both of them long term.

So...what are your thoughts on Frans coaching ability again?

This team will be fine without Marble and obviously McCabe.

Gesell and Olaseni might be our best players right now.

Half court defense isn't as good as it has been the last two years, no explanation, that is just effort.

Poor shot selection, why does White even bother shooting a 3, why jack a shot 4 ft. behind the line 10 seconds in the shot clock or less, why isn't the extra pass being made, multiple things that Iowa can do better.

First and foremost, start hitting the front ends of 1 and 1's. That is just leaving way too many points on the floor. Second, play better perimeter defense, Iowa has big guys that can contest shots...let them, get in the face of players and don't make stupid fouls on their drive.

Third: feed the post, remember Fran's first year and how many post touches Jarryd Cole got...Jarryd Cole, I love him, but Iowa has far better players today than that season...too much perimeter dribbling in the half court offense and ball movement becomes stagnant. I have been harping on this since the first season Fran was at Iowa.

As I watched this team struggle tonight I started thinking the exact same thing. Why are Gabe and Woody both on the bench, Gabe is our best post player and Woody might be the second best.

They are both getting better every game, yet the ship is sinking with small ball.

Iowa doesn't have a go-to lineup right now. They are struggling in that regard. They looked very clueless tonight. By far their worst game of the year. Criticizing them individually is pointless, they simply need to play better, with one exception I must note - has McCabe ever committed a foul in his mind? Ever?

The recipe for beating Iowa is to hustle your *** back on defense, and force Iowa into long possessions. There was a play in the first half where White beat an OSU player down the court after a made basket for easy basket. Motta was screaming at that kid to "run!" or "get back!" or something to that effect when they went to a timeout. I don't recall any obvious fast break points after that. Message given, message received. I expect the same from Michigan on Saturday.

We lost to the better team tonight. We could have done so many things better, but they beat us and they were better. They played like the next B1G team trying to recover from a bad start and they did it tonight as well as the last game.

What? He played 19 min. 14 pts, 5 for 5 and 4 for 4 FT with 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Yeah, your right another 20 pounds and Fran will give him another 5 minutes a game. Are you serious? Fran is turning this team into a train wreck. McCabe was 1 for 8 and 1for 6 from three as well as 1 for 2 from the line. I really question what Fran is thinking. His deep bench is proving to be a detriment when no one can get into a flow before he subs.

Its HOW we are losing these games that make it so brutal. There's always something not clicking (usually FTs), 3point shot. We are so close, it makes it more frustrating.

FTs, FTs, FTs.

Fran doesn't trust them at the FT line in the last 4 minutes most likely.
