Not sure if this has been posted before but yesterday at Garden Club in IC McCaffery said Woodbury would be a starter for them this year. Talked about how tough tough he is and how he is "his kind of player"

Some other tidbits:

-Gesell will start and is excellent
-The team has been working very hard and there is only one person not in shape (didnt say who)
-Talked about Marble and the NBA...said he has a shot but needs to improve on D
-Basabe is working twice as hard as last summer

I for one think its great. When is the last time we could tout having a NBA caliber player on our roster?

I think he wants Roy to think that. I think it is fairly obvious that he is not, and he has a loooooong way to go before he could even consider it.

You maybe right about him using it to motivate JR. I think its possible but no way after this year will he be ready. Hopefully he surprises us both and takes his game to a whole new level.

this. you motivate the players any way possible. and that is Dev's dream (obviously) so Fran is using it as motivation.

For Marble to be draftable in the first couple of rounds, he would have to make significant progress and be draining three balls like Gatens. I think his outside shooting comes around, but really, he's guarding Dwayne Wade or Michael Westbrooke. He needs more physical development and I'm not sure that much can happen in 12 months.

Probably that chub Olaseni...jk...my guess would be Ingram since he wasn't here for the PTL while he worked on his grades.

Where are the PTL honks who were claiming Olesani was the most improved player and would fight AW for the starting role? He must not have impressed Francis much if he's naming AW starter 2 months before the season starts.

How many rounds are in the nba draft?? is Michael Westbrooke still with the Redskins??? He has to be damn near 45 now... I think RDMJR could guard him on the post route, maybe not the fade thou.

interesting that Woody will start. tough learning curve for big men. hopefully he'll be better adjusted when Big10 season starts.

I agree, he is good off the dribble, but he needs a more consistant jumper. In the NBA, he would need to hit the 3 consistantly to stick.

Oh, you mean Fran McCaffery? "As far as which player has improved the most this spring, McCaffery said 'It’s Gabe (Olaseni) without a doubt. Without a doubt.'â€￾ Link

My guess he's getting ready to go the football game this afternoon, kicking it in his office, or chatting up EC Matthews. Actually, that's a fun game, BTT. Where IS Fran McCaffery?

I think this means that Woody has continued to get stronger and better since the end of PTL,and is clearly going to be hard to keep out of the lineup, despite Gabe's improvement. There is a reason that Woody was a top 45 player, while Gabe did not break the top 150. Good news, as far as I am concerned.
