Fran does not want Marble at the Point next year

I think we will see a huge improvement in the outside shooting from Marble next year. His stroke is way better this year already.

This is not a shot at you Spank but it is pretty obvious Marble is not a true PG that Fran likes to have run his system.

Marble can get the job done but he is not great. He does a great job protecting the ball but he just does not seem to play with a true PG pace/feel.

I don't know why so many people couldn't understand that with Gessel and Clemmons coming in Marble was no longer going to be playing major minutes at the PG spot. There might be some games he plays there due to foul trouble/injury but Fran wants a true PG.

Who is Jordan Garretson?

Anyway, this says a lot about the confidence he has in the newcomers which is great.

I don't think anyone including Fran anticipated Bryce's struggles this year, but give marble credit for stepping in and playing his tail off even though the point is not his natural position, I would vote Gatens as MVP but I would give Most Improved to Marble!

Just guessing but when you bring in two top 100 players, the starting point guard and center position is Gesells and Woodbury's to lose.

No real surprise with good PG material coming in next year. I expect Gesell to be our starting PG at some point next year, if not right away, with Clemmons getting a good share of backup minutes.

If RDM does develop a decent, consistent 3-pt shot he will be a nightmare for opposing defenders. He will be able to post up smaller guards and a big man on him out at the perimeter will have their hands full as he can drive by. I think RDM slashing as a 2 or 3 will be awesome as he can hang and make shots in the lane.

I'm sorry, but I really hate the term "true point guard". Just a pet peeve of mine.

Well while we are getting picky how about "real point guard". You know someone like Ronnie Lester who could penetrate, drive and dish or get a layup any time against anybody. A real point guard can bend a defense and instantly beat his guy and create open looks.

if marble develops his 3pt shot so it is more consistent he will have what most wings dont. ability to go to the rim, shoot the 3 and pull up for the midrange (a lost art). he will be the x-factor to see if he can fill matt's shoes as the primary scorer. i think he will and we will have much better compliments to him than matt ever had.
