Good for Brennan Cougill – the former Hawkeye seems to be doing well at Wisconsin-Green Bay | TheGazette

Glad to hear he is doing well. From article:

Cougill went to Wisconsin-Green Bay of the Horizon League. Last season, he averaged 9.2 points and 7 rebounds per game. Nice. So far this season, he is averaging 27.1 minutes, 12.7 points and 6.8 rebounds as a senior He had 12 points and 12 rebounds Wednesday night in the Phoenix’s 65-54 loss at Wisconsin. UWGB is 3-6.

Seldom is a player of Cougill’s size a great free-throw shooter, but he is 29-of-33 this year and has made his last 18 attempts.

I caught some of the game. He played decent, but his defensive abilities are a liability.

Guy would be a terrible fit in Fran's offense and style of play. No vertical and can barely run the length of the floor. He just looks soft. Large upper body with twigs for legs.

I watched the last part of the first half and most of the second half last night and Wisconsin looks like a very beatable team. Green Bay's PG was constantly in the paint and had looks to take it up at the basket but wasn't strong enough. He would start in one corner beat his man take it in the paint and pass it to the three point line once he got to the opposite block. They had a 7'1" trying to shoot 20 ft jump shots all night which usually doesn't work well and still only lost by 11. Bo has his work cut out for him.

Ahhh the days of Cougill and Cully Payne in the starting lineup. I do not know how I continued to watch every single game.

Good for him. I like to see young men find success.
I remember the fools on here who said FM must go after him, we need him. LOL!

This is the first time ive ever heard his name lol. I guess I wasn't a loyal fan after getting put to sleep by Lick's games

WTF kind of name is "brennan cougill"?
sounds totally fake and made up
almost as forced and phony as "William Vonnegut"

Good for him. This may be a disliked statement but I feel we have a better version of cougill on the team...mccabe (better outside shot and more athletic and tougher). and he isn't playing much at least lately. So I think it worked out best for both parties.

He hit a three in a game where we almost came back to beat Michigan State at East Lansing. Come to think of it, that game may be in the Lickliter top 5 games. Boy did we suck.

Imagine how Matt Gatens felt? He waited his whole life to wear the Black and Gold, to be a part of the Hawkeye tradition...and everyday he looked around the locker room to see Mid-Major and lower (Little Lick) teammates.

And McCabe was actually from Sioux City and didn't get recruited to Heelan from outside of Sioux City like Cougill (was it Cherokee?) as a Protestant being bought/brought into a Catholic school.

Seriously? How did he feel? He felt like he stuck with something, was the beginning of a turnaround. he wanted to wear a Hawkeye uniform and did much more than that here. I don't think you know much because Gatens was one person who never complained, he took what was given to him and he definitely goes down as one of my favorite Hawks of all-time.

Nothing against Cougill or Payne, but neither IMO were big ten players. They both had no business being at Iowa in the first place, aside from the fact that they were brought in to fit Lick's system. I'm glad they're playing well, but they are playing where they belong now. By all means not a shot at either of these individuals.

Really how does this matter. Who cares if he was recruited there or not...is it fair? No but life isn't...deal. I know a few people that weren't catholic and went to catholic school and they didn't go because of sports.
