For The Notre Dame Fans….

Fleck is the one that's inexplicable to me. He's had some decent seasons but he's had a few turds too. Usually guys like him get booted after a while but I suppose Minnesota isn't a football school anymore. He runs a pretty clean ship by the looks of if and seems to be a high-character (if a little flamboyant) guy, so that probably has something to do with it too.

I'm not a fan of the guy but he seems a little bit like KF in that he strikes me as the type to play by all the rules. Like if something came up scandal-wise he wouldn't try to hide it or sweep stuff under the rug. He's one of those coaches who isn't a household name and just stays calmly under the radar.

PJ Fleck is a toolbag, but he is a very good football coach. The cornball shit that most coaches try to sell, actually works for him. I’m not sure what his next job should be after Minnesota, but I am comfortable saying it should not be UCLA.

Somebody evidently said they would do that for UCLA to pay Foster to take a hike already. He wasn't making a boat load but still he was 3 games into yr 2 of a 5 yr deal. You see that happen and you just know that they'll never be another KF at one place for 27 plus yrs. We grew up with Paterno, Bowden, Beamer Fry. Programs were synonymous with their coaches for a long time.

What coaches have been where they are 10 plus yrs now? Whittingham at Utah I think is the closest to KF and Gundy at OK state I bet they are pushing 20 yrs. Beyond that I can think of Dabo and Stoops they've been at their schools awhile now. Franklin at PSU he's been there longer then I think I bet. Nobody else comes to mind past those guys for me anwyay
One has to admit the reason we don't kick coaches to the curb after 3 seasons is our expectations are tempered.

Sometimes (more often oftentimes) it's better not to be a blue blood where 10-3/9-4 is reason to be dismissed.

You realize Chip Kelly decided to be like F it… I am good stepping down and being an OC somewhere else. Playing in front of 30,000 people in an off campus stadium…how appealing is that?
Yeah there's something clearly off about that place and those that run the show. Coaches don't just step down from a job like that to go be an OC anywhere. Not a guy like Chip at that point in his career I wouldn't think.

UCLA is still UCLA in southern CA. Now they are in the BIG. I'd say there'll be suiters for it better then Foster ever would be and maybe that's why they decided to just rip off the band aid. Cause I don't think Foster got the fairest of shakes but hey define fair in that line of work.

100% expectations are the differences between jobs. USC and Minnesota can have a 9 win season and have totally different ways of looking at them. Too many 9 win seasons and Riley will be gone. Fleck can probably stay at MN for as long as he wants if he has a 9 win yr every 2 or 3 yrs.
