Flopping in today's game (old vid of Red Auerbach)

I assume you have read this, but if you haven't:

They need to teach these guys how to set a screen. The 1st one the screener was moving.

2nd "flopper" I would say in a in game situation would be the most difficult position to call. Ball handler has his shoulder down and the defend had the position. If the defender was faking that one he should have been an actor.

3rd video clearly against the defense, if anything.

I was great at knowing when and how to take charges, and I never flopped.

call the foul on the flopper, the best way to stop that nonsense. i'm with red.

I disagree. First refs need to learn what constitutes a block, charge, and a no call. Next, when you see the exagerated fall/slide, IGNORE IT. That gives the other team a 1 or 2 person advantage. If the player gets up with the "how could you not make that call" pose/look, then T 'em up. In no time at all the behavior will cease.

Flopping has been around since before Duke and/or Vlade Divac"...hell, we were taught how to do it when I was playing peewee ball in 4 grade and I'm 42 now...of course, back then it was called "learning how to take a charge"...

I agree with this.

Red Auerbach, the Casey Stengel of pro basketball was a no nonsense type of guy. I do remember Wesley Unseld playing for Lousiville against Drake. He and Butch Beard made Lousiville a very good team. Willie McCarter and Willie Wise took them down at Vets the year Drake made the Final Four.....

I also like the idea of leaving the flopper on the floor and playing on.....

Should send the video to Jacobson at UNI, the master of flop strategy.....
