FIRE MCCAFFERY NOW

Not the popular thing to say but true. We couldn't throw it in the ocean today. We played tight and the longer the game went, the tighter we got. It manifested itself in the shooting.
We were tight from the get go, maybe overconfident. Had to catch it on the radio and you could sense it just by listening.

When your tense, you use up a lot of energy just by being tense. They looked sleepy and a step slow all day.

The one thing that Lute always taught and that was that you wanted the majority of your points to come from within the lane.

If you can pass the ball around and eventually work it into the lane, then you have a much higher percentage shot.

Of course you need to have a center who can average more than five points a game and can defend the rim. Not just stand there and let them pass it in right under the basket or drive right to the basket on a inbounds play.

I trust seemed like Iowa’s big men weren’t into the game today. Terribly disappointing loss.

How many more NCAA turds does Fran get to lay before the carpet is pulled out from beneath his feet? March madness is what the whole season aims at. Might as.well blindfold Fran, spin him around fifty times and have him shoot an arrow and try to hit a bulls eye. Since it’s Fran and tournament time to make it more realistic we won’t even set out a bullseye.

Cheer up everyone all of the Cyclone fans are laughing their asses off at Hawkeye Nation right now.
Takes a hell of a fan to enjoy someone elses losses more than your own teams wins.

And it's not just the fans. Allan Lazard was happier to see Iowa getting clobbered in the Rose Bowl that he was disappointed that he on his couch new years day.

Dramatic highs and lows this season

Went from Jordan's three to beat Indiana in the BTT

To this bag of filthy garbage

Blame can be cast everywhere

Other than PMac

Wonder if Keegan lost a few million with this performance

Alas

Didn't use them in the first half either. Unfathomable.
Meanwhile the TO Mooney took early in the second half turned out to be a stroke of genius.

Wasn't our best game from a cerebral standpoint. Especially Tony. Fouling a three point shooter in the corner is a killer. Offensive fouls. Quick shooting from PMac and Kris.

Overall our worst game in nearly two months and a terrible time for it. No one had Iowa losing this game. At least Seth Davis called the NW State upset sixteen years ago

Fran was calm when he should have been mad today, early on he should have pulled a couple of guys for not getting back on Defense, he didn't. In comparison the ND coach looked like he was placing some bets and ordering take out last night when he coached. He was hilarious, all smiles and keeping his team loose, and they executed and weren't afraid to shoot the ball. Don't know if Fran can adjust his demeaner as needed for his team. That being said have not seen Kris or Keegan struggle like they did today, ever. The Defense was good enough. Can't understand where the confidence goes come NCAA time.

THE FANS RAN OFF DAVIS. THEN THEY RAN OFF ALFORD. IT JUST KEEPS GOING DOWNHILL, BUT I WOULD TRY TO BRING BACK ALFORD AND MAYBE KENO DAVIS AS AN ASSISTANT IF WE CAN GET THEM. AND PROBABLY BJ ARMSTRONG TOO.

Your game hasn't been this stong bince, well, a long time.

It's absolutely perplexing. They made a HELL of a run to win against pretty strong teams four days in a row.

They go into the NCAA tourney on Valium. I don't get it.

Thats what is so fricking baffling about today......no pattern of bs play for over a month now.
Ya didn't see the struggle coming. Keegan was wide open on half his shots, had three days rest just like the Spiders. Then Sanfort, then Conner, then Perkins. It's a lot easier playing defense against a team who isn't hitting their outside shots. The coach was open about taking JBo and Keegan out of the game. The problem was they took themselves out of it.

FRAN IS LIKE AN ABOVE AVERAGE MLB HITTER GOING UP AGAINST A REALLY GOOD PITCHER. THE FIRST TIME HE SEES SOMEONE, HE IS SCREWED, BUT ONCE HE GETS SOME LOOKS, HE CAN USUALLY FIGURE OUT A WAY TO MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.

BUT HE'S JUST LOST AS SHIT THE FIRST TIME FACING SOMEONE WHO IS A REALLY GOOD COACH WHO HAS A TEAM THAT HAS REPS UNDER THEIR BELT. WE'VE SEEN IT HIS WHOLE CAREER. WE SAW IT AGAINST JAY WRIGHT IN THE HISTORIC BATTLE 4 ATLANTIS. WE SAW IT LAST YEAR AGAINST GONZAGA. WE SAW IT AGAINST BAYLOR IN THE NIT FINAL. WE HAVE SEEN IT EVERY YEAR IN THE TOURNAMENT. IT JUST IS WHAT IT IS.

Keegan actually struggled worse against Iowa State. Much worse. And Richmond appeared to study that game film early and often.

Agree they were not aggressive. Did not push the ball up the court as usual and settled.

Unfortunately that’s the way some of these people are. The old saying is so true “Misery enjoys company..”

It is a stupid way to live one’s life and unfortunately there are a lot of stupid people in the world.

Refs called fouls for Keegan, but he abandoned the post up game early and settled for the jumper. If a guys shot isn't falling you have to scrap. Iowa didn't do that and didn't rebound the offensive board.

Oregon.

I am not calling for anyone's head, but this was not a well coached or mentally tough team today, again. Which is so sad as we have seen a mentally tough team all season except in that loss to Illinois, and to do it on the biggest stage is the reason I always fill out two brackets. One with what I wish Iowa would do and one that falls more in line with what they usually do.
