If Brian Ferentz is named head coach after Kirk, I will have bought my last season ticket until Barta is fired. There are many valid reasons for hiring someone as head coach...being the son of the current coach is not one of them.
 
I thought Barta would fire Ferentz after the Iowa State debacle earlier this year. But this is worse, he has to fire him on the plane flying home. Hand him and Greg Davis a single parachute and have them fight over it in midair.

Has anybody heard from Nick Saban about the rumors that he will be the next head coach at Iowa? What about a response from Ferentz about the reports he will step down by the end of the week? The Outback Bowl press conferences are about to get interesting.

This is the most vanilla, unimaginative program in the nation. It is boring. It is unproductive.

I dont care if takes 2 seasons for a new coach to get "his" guys in theprogram and we will lose.

I want someone who can recruit and develop. Sure KF can do that. But I want a coach that can recruit 4* and 5* guys and develop.

I dont want to here "You cant recruit at Iowa" Thats BS. You can too.

"Oh, who will we hire?" IS a question some of you will throw out. There a lot of imaginative coaches out there. And Iowa has shown they will pay their coach and support him and give him a weak press corp and above average facilities. I think a lot of coaches would come to Iowa.

Its stale and its time for change.

Things may be as stale as Miss Havisham's wedding cake, but I''ll take it.

8 - 4 is lately and seems pretty productive.

I CARE about the money.The program would suffer for years.

It is a really dumb contract, but it isn't KF's fault.

Saban has not ruled out Iowa - FACT.
 
After the incredible showing today. I decided to just bump this thread I started in 2013. Instead of starting a new thread.

Its a beaut. Enjoy re-reading all the goodness and the thoughts from that season.

Seems like the more things change the more they stay the same.

Wow. $ years later and still dealing with the same offensive problems. Except we now actually have a good RB (10x better than Weisman). Still poor OL play. Much worse offensive production.
