FIRE FERENTZ

If we lose the remaining 3 games, Kirk and his staff have to go.
If we finish 6-6 and go to a bowl, you can't fire him.

We are above average in pre-game planning, but well below average on in-game adjustments.

I disagree that Iowa is above average in pregame. One or two good offensive drives is not above average. Defensively, maybe but definitely not offensively.

The money is already spent. They owe Ferentz 75% of his salary through 2020 unless he is fired for cause, which will not happen.

He's gonna get 2014. IMO, next year is make or break.

I would have to agree that if we don't see significant improve the rest of this season and more of the same next season then KF will be let go after next year. At some point we start to become the laughing stock of college football. This season isn't over yet and I am not giving up hope but it doesn't look real promising at this point. It seems that we just can't put the pieces all together. Just excuses all the time. Next year we can blame it on our linebackers inexperience. Salary per performance would put KF in the lower middle of the Big Ten teams. Just guessing around 2.5 million a year.

I'm ready for KF to move on and I turned the corner last week. I have thought even more about this and since Norm Parker left, Iowa has never been the same.

The idiots are out in full force today...We have lost to the #1,#6, defense in the nation, the $4 team in the nation, and another undefeated team....Use your brains people. Im not happy about it either, but ive got some perspective at least!

Well the idiots are posting calling others idiots. It's not that we lost today it's that we've scored ONE TD in the 2nd half the entire conference schedule. That's NOT good...sugar coat it any way you want....IDIOT.

Your perspective it would seem is resignation to mediocrity.

You might want to define mediocrity because so far, we have lost to some pretty darn good football teams. Yet people just a week or two ago were happy with the progress. We had two quarterbacks play today which neither impressed. Both are green and are prone to mistakes. Iowa is destined to have a few 9 or 10 win seasons and were probably likely to be more capable of winning 7 or 8 most years. It's not Ferentz's fault. It's many things: location, the school, the program itself. The score was deceiving even with Bethard in there, we were in it in the 4th quarter. Turnovers deep in our territory and pinning the tired defense back deep in our territory doomed us along with the inability to sustain any drives.

While I mostly agree. KF does have to take responsibility for any/all losses.

Does anyone honestly think Wisconsin is that good. How much longer are these excuses valid? This team is not mediocre. This team is poorly coached.

Minnesota is 7-2 people...MINNESOTA! All the homers need to wake from their dream sleep. Don't give me excuses that we've played blah blah blah Defenses. This is the Big Ten the 5th best conference in FBS not the SEC. Give me a break.

Im tired of the lame excuses. Its the school, the location. And if you are blaming the program, thats on KF.
This is a destination program. Despite what the people who accept mediocrity say.
a 7 or 8 win season should not be acceptable for acoach has been at a program for 15 years. a 10 win season should be accepted.
Mizzou can recruit. Why cant we? It goes back to the coaches. We have a Texas coach and we cant get Texas speed guys? Why?
The score wasnt deceiving. We couldnt score and werent going to. We were not in ti in the 4th quarter. If you have a watched an Iowa game this season , you know we dont adjust at half time. And today we started the 2nd half with 2 straight 3 and outs. With the wind.

You are deciving yourself if you think this coaching staff can produce a winning program.

Yes we have lost to some good teams. But we are or should be a good team as well, especially with a head coach who is in his 15th year. The Hawks have played evenly or had the lead on each of these good teams as well. Then the 2nd half begins and that's when things go down hill.

Playing one good half of football and an below average half of football = mediocrity.

I'm not sure who called last weeks win against northwestern progress - it was a win but it also showed us what was going to happen this game - and it did.

It was progress AND it also showed that we will have trouble beating good teams if we can't score. Especially with 2 turnovers inside our own 30 and dropping passes.

Offense wasn't good today, no one can disagree with that.

Whether you're new here (per posts) or a modern day alt just flaming (which I'm guessing, but biting nonetheless)....your statement bolded above is rubbish bs, in-spite of your astute assessment otherwise. Thanks now.

Whats the answer? Fire Ferentz? You are deceiving yourself if you think we are going to attract some big coach to come in and be our savior. Sure recruiting speed would help but you have to get guys who will come here. With O'keefe leaving or being run out, Davis has yet to get his guys in. This is just his second year and I believe many Hawk fans a week or two ago were convinced we had turned the corner. First we complain about Norm Parker and O'Keefe, now Davis and Ferentz...who is next?

Yes, I'm new your deductive logic is keen. I've come to see your of your posts seem to "piggyback" other people's comments and play internet tough guy. What's great is you can get away with it because it's a forum. I'm glad you disagree with my assessment. I imagine it makes your day and adds to your status and/or post totals.

What is perplexing to me, for someone who seems to be either sarcastic of both the Hawkeyes and others, why do you come around. Oh wait, you think your opinion counts. Yeah, pick up your black and gold phone and get Barta on the line and tell him to fire Ferentz.

I would imagine most most places would try to welcome someone new and could debate your point (or mine). Instead you chose to call part of my post "rubbish BS". Boy, you got me there. Thanks now.
