Final Bowl Blog Update for today: Hawks v Huskers?

wow, they are saying that we will predict 12-0 again if we win.... as for me far from it. but i do think a win may propel us to 9-10 wins, only to have us be even more excited for 2012
 
If Iowa plays Nebraska in the Insight Bowl and wins then this season was more of a success to me than if they had gone to the Rose Bowl and won. I grew up in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area with a father who was a Hawkeye fan and a mother who was a Cornhusker fan. Just to put an end to all the **** talking that's been going on my whole life would be very fulfilling. I guarantee Iowa would get hyped up for this game, it is the biggest rivalry that never was.

It is because the Big 10 is a helluva lot better than the Big 12. You can't really disagree because you are leaving it for us. Its like trading a good looking but dumb southern girl for a wealthy, smart and better looking babe. The Insight Bowl is like the 6th best Big 10 bowl game and the Insight is like 3rd or 4th for the future Big 10. The kicker of it all is...

We make the same money if we go went to the BCS as if we went to the Insight Bowl!

I'm not convinced that Nebraska falls to the Insight, because of their fanbase.

But, the Big 12 has 5 teams with 9 or more wins (OU, Nebraska, Okie State, Mizzou, and A&M), and only one will get a BCS berth (most likely). The Big Ten has 3 teams with 11 wins (OSU, Wisky, MSU), and two will likely get BCS berths. No other Big Ten team has more than 7 wins. You do the math.

At the end of the movie "Rocky" Apollo Creed says to Rocky that there won't be a rematch. Jon was just making a colorful reference to a 34 year old movie in his explanation as to why Nebraska won't be in the Alamo Bowl. They do not want a rematch of Washington and Nebraska, just as Apollo and Rocky stated they didn't want a rematch..

Because the people that set up the conference alignments knew that it would take a 10-3 team from your crappy conference to be competitive with the 6th team in our conference.

I would be more worried about what RG shows up. One of the ones who are capable, or the revolving door who will be Crick's hood ornament.

Now, all this being said, if the Alamo picks their matchup based on the PAC 10 rep, they are idiots. The P10 does not travel well. Need to start with the B12 rep and go from there.

Ah, thank you. I haven't seen Rocky in a while. I had read that if Wasington is in the Alamo, they won't rematch with Nebraska, and I was aware that Washington won, but I hadn't looked at the Pac 10 bowl lineup. I guess it must be a lock that Washington will be in the Alamo.
