Exactly. It is like Ferentz does not coach to want to win. That is really how it comes off a lot of the time.
The formula creates a win or loss and do not deviate from it.

We went into scramble mode and allowed Stanley to make plays against ISU. And it worked when all of us didn't think we had a chance. Just like the Chiefs on Sundays. Alex Smith only functions as a winning QB when they are down and need to score. Why not make a game plan that is unpredictable the whole game instead of opening the offense only when its toward the end of the game and you need to score? You can still be a run first team with counters, misdirection and pulling Olineman. You can't sustain this idealogy with the same zone read to the short side of the field.Does anyone believe that MSU's execution was flawless? I don't. They stunk, a lot. But they won because they controlled the game with their defensive game plan and they're celebrating this week. No team executes to 100% perfection, so, it becomes what do you do when you aren't executing to still win? Iowa keeps to script and goes down with the ship, instead of taking risks to overcome poor execution. We never go into scramble mode and become unpredictable.
