Kurt is not going to KC.
Kurt is not going to KC.
I'm sure as soon as the rumor hit Barta's ear he got out his feathered pen and parchment paper and wrote out a new contract giving Kirk an extra 2 mil a year. Expect it to be announced soon.
Kurt won the Orange Bowl three years ago. He's pretty much the cat's pajamas.First off, happy holidays to all!
Second, thanks to Jon for the article, and all the posts that followed (some of you guys are funnier than the credit that is given to you).
On to the subject at hand, speaking as an ordinary average fan... if the Kansas City Chiefs' GM should survive a 2-14 season "end of season house cleaning" (not necessarily a given) and wants our coach, who am I to lose any sleep over it?
Raise your hand if you will miss the "horizontal offense", and the resultant plunge to the bottom of all offensive statistical categories. Or if you will wince at the thought of not seeing another ultra conservative home finale senior day punt at the NE 31 yard line.
Perhaps the thought of not seeing another one yard out pass on fourth and three at home with the game on the line versus Purdue will bring a tear to your eye...
Or maybe your thoughts of the future are clouded by memories of being down more than three scores at Michigan in the third quarter, and the Hawks going with a blazing run left, then a surprise run right, and then a totally unexpected throw short of the sticks (incomplete in any event) to open the half and set the tone for the rest of the game...
Why go on, if it isn't abundantly clear to the head coach that the 2012 season was a management "train wreck" and the plan for the 2013 season to "stay the course" promises nothing but more of the same futility, then I will feel nothing but relief if our head coach leaves for the NFL. If nothing else, it will be step one in the process of trying to un-$%^$# the mistakes of 2012 and win football games going forward...
My apologies if my post is too cut and dried for some, but the NFL rumors since 2002 have grown a little stale of late given our coach's penchant for refusal to acknowledge the obvious...
If you can't identify your mistakes, you have little chance of correcting them.
My two cents on this latest rumor.
You need to give it up. It is sad to read.
