Iowa HAS to be in the top ten for producing offensive linemen. That was a whiff by ESPN on the list.

Brandon Scherff and Marshall Yanda have been more than serviceable starters. And James Daniels may not be far behind. If Riley Reiff and Bryan Bulaga are considered serviceable they are on the high end of serviceable. Austin Blythe as well. Now starts a long list of those who have been serviceable, led by Robert Gallery, Eric Steinbach, Bruce Nelson, Ross Verba, Casey Weigmann and Mike Goff (the last three if you want to go into the late Hayden Fry years.)Yeah, I noticed that as well. Where would you put Iowa ? I don't know exacrly what the criteria was Iowa produces a lot of serviceable starters(not a bad thing).but not many all-pros. If you are going by the sheer number of guys drafted then I wonder where Iowa falls in at.
Just happened to be watching ESPN at lunch and Chris Mortensen was on and they were talking Broncos (since they play tonight) and he said Denver signed an undrafted FA from Wyoming at TE that is doing as good or better than Noah Fant thus far. Is that good or bad, I don't know.
Looking at the roster, they're loaded with tight ends...some are familiar names to Iowa fans. With a 53 man roster, they'll cut or practice roster half of em by Aug 31. Teams usually roster 6 WR and 3 TE.
Fant
Jake Butt (Michigan)
Austin Fort (the free agent from Wyoming)
Troy Fumagali (Wisconsin)
Jeff Heuerman (Ohio State)
Bug Howard (North Carolina)
Moral Stephens (Florida)
Imagine how good this guy could have been if he had actually given some effort during his three years in Iowa City.
Collinsworth was very complimentary of Iowa. He basically said that he's amazed at how much improvement in blocking players make within the program.
I thought Fant looked tight and a bit overwhelmed, which is to be expected somewhat. He dropped one easy pass, and failed to relax and get to his spot on another.
