Fant - Effort issues continue?

Unless Hock gets hurt. He will have a long pro bowl career. Can't say the same for Fant. Fant could be several teams by the time he's done. Hock might go to one or two. And for top dollar.

Either way I think you are going to see more players get there money and get out of the game by retiring early. Making $100 million isnt worth it if you think you are taking too many head shots. $20 million should do.

I looked up that TJ has $19 million guaranteed for 4 years. After I saw that first concussion he sustained, and I have had a couple of bad concussions, playing only 4 years and really investing your money well in a good mix of funds, real estate, a business of your interest sounds like better than Jason Witten types coming back for their 80th year in the league.

No doubt pitching is huge, but that OF just couldn't cover. Schwarber just can't run. He couldn't get to a lot. Losing Fowler was huge...besides he tossed me a ball several years ago. The Cubs gave up a lot of extra bases ....no speed.

Kingman was awful on D. These Cubs aren't as bad as those Cubs but the outfield isn't championship material. Neither is the bullpen.. I will never sit through another game pitched by Quintana. He is slower than Iowa play calling to get a pitch made.

Remember when Kingman stuck a ball in the ceiling of the Metrodome?
Fowler was a sparkplug in 2015 and '16 but man was that a lot of strikeouts to absorb.

I guess that just the way the game is played today!

Hard for me to get used to. My HS teams had low strike outs, hi obp, few hrs astronomical stolen bases. I'm old school emphasizing old. We would get picked offmore than thrown out. Lots of pickoff errors against us.

Oh the old days.

Cubs needed to dump Fowler but they need some OF speed.

I'm guessing he modern player will get his money and be out of the NFL by 30 or 31 years old. Why would you risk permanent brain injury??

Yes I agree. Concussions are changing the game. I had a minor one a few years ago. Can't even think what a major one would be like, or several concussions.

Its about time he did something. I watched him closely this year. Lots of drops and false starts, holds and bone headed stuff. I dumped him off of my fantasy team when I had to get a new QB

should I pick him back up? sign of things to come? or is it just Cleveland?
I think that's more tackles broken than his whole career here. That safety tried to tackle him low and got rag-dolled. Happy for him though, always nice to see a Hawkeye do well in the NFL!

He hit that first defender like a truck. He spun him like a top on the ground. Big time play for him and it directly attributed to them winning (which they hadn't done much of lately) With Flacco out and their season up in the air it'll be interesting how he develops. He Lindsay and Sutton I really like. They have some pieces. There's obviously some missing ones for them too. Be it QB or whatever it is

I just don't understand the dislike of the guy. Bates Diop in bb played in our conference. Much of a game he appeared aloof and lazy. He had like 4 D1r as teammates. Late in the game when it mattered, whoa. Then you knew.

Malcolm Hill and Jaquan Lyle were the same way... When the game picked up intensity Diopp and Hill seemed to like it. If Lyle thought he couldn't take the game completely would get frustrated.

The other thing that happened was the threat of injury really increased. The big athletes became huge targets everyone wanted a piece of.

KF just never has seemingly been able to manage the truly gifted well.

Fant was an anomaly. He could have been so much more and it wasn't all him. Little on the other hand seems to have benefited by KF s style. Still you have to wonder how much he left on the table as a Hawk.
