Has it ever occured to you that people comment on things that are important to them? For example, I don't visit or comment on Kansas State Women's Basket ball because I am not a fan.
I am a fan (fanatic about) of Iowa football. I care. I'm emotionally invested (more than I should be). So I spout off. If that offends you. That my friend is your problem.

I also need a ruling ... I primarily follow college football and basketball, am not a fan of any pro sports, nor of wrestling, but really enjoy volleyball, so, please take that into consideration as I state my case.
Born-n-bred Iowan, UofI alum, have cheered for the Hawks since the 70's and have been a football season ticket holder for a decade or so. Watch every basketball game and make a couple in person each season, I even drive up to attend a volleyball game each year (if Penn State or Nebraska is in town).
I respect Kirk Ferentz, the man but have been sour on The Corporal Kurt, as a coach, since 2006. I've been in full disgust at his dogmatic philosophy, mismanagement of personnel, lack of urgency to seize victory and blatant gaffes that directly contribute to at least 2 losses each season (at least 4, in 2012) since 2010. I'm seriously considering giving up the season tickets until he's gone but, in the meanwhile, would continue to watch every televised game (with sound down and Dolph and Eddie on the headset).
I find myself extremely positive about Fran McCaffery's coaching style and the direction of the basketball program, in general. Even when they were Lickified, I continued to watch in hope, as I've done for 33 years.
A compelling case, I know, but, to be fair, I also must come clean that I don't like your posting style, Duff. I rarely see anything of substance beyond your condescending quips and myopic references to singular embedded examples from years ago. If you're trolling, you're not very good at it because you don't give me the lulz. If you're serious, you're mostly a *****.
Hopefully that doesn't corrupt your objectiveness in determing my fate on your list.
Please offer me judgment and guidance in resolving this horrific dichotomy. It will not only relieve me of great anguish, it will permit me to move forward in maintaining or severing my relationship with Hawkeye football.

I am lovin' this, Duff Man! I have seen an increasing number of messages that are starting to call out the TROLLS who are beginning to dominate this board.
I am only a real fan during the three year upswings. During the three year downswings, I have to dial it back to interested observer so as not to ruin my Fall. I am lucky though because I have three teams with which I have a legitimate connection (work or alumni) so the odds are at least one will still be looking forward to more games at this time of year.
That being said, I still watch the games, my truck still represents, and I still come on here and make people mad at me. But that's about it. In fact, this is the first year in a while that I didn't even go to an alumni game watch and I don't necessarily see doing it for next year either.
