Every game we win is like another rung on a ladder to nowhere

Lol I wasn't referring to blind hope. I have also been a Cubs fan all my life. I didn't reasonably consider the pennant a realistic beginning season goal after the Sammy Sosa years. Lol until 2016 and 2017 that is lol.

It might have been blind hope but I remained a Cubs fan all through those bad years hoping this would be the year.

No way man...the Cubs SUCKED in the 90s!

Lol just like Nebraska does now. Yet oddly their fans still think each year that they will magically be good. I always hoped for the Cubs to be good, but I reasonably knew when they had a shot and when they didn't. At least with Iowa only 4 seasons out of 30 years was one that I knew that my hope was more like a prayer.

The 2018 Wisconsin game is looking more and more like the 2002 ISU game.

Just sayn
Except this time we may get the shot at tOSU that we didn't in 2002.

Only issue is it's looking more and more like Michigan coming out the east. And I'm the biggest Harbaugh critic.

Lots of football to be played on both sides of conference. But back to your original point, I would love 2018 Penn State= 2002 Michigan.

If we beat Wisconsin we could survive this.

Two excruciating horrible losses where Stanley gives the game away.

I was right no matter how much flak I got.

We now have 0% chance of winning the division. No reason to even pay attention from here on out.

A 10 win season may never feel so hollow. Even eleven wins if we beat some middle-of-the-pack team in a meaningless bowl game.

I wax poetically as I harken back to my 3rd year @ Iowa when we went to the Final Four. As I was basking in the glow of watching Iowa beat G'town, I remember thinking "Enjoy this....it'll probably never happen again in my lifetime." I've been correct.

I took the loss in Indy in 2015 hard. HARD. Why? Same reasoning....I turned to my buddy in the stands right after and said, "This is probably my last chance in my lifetime to see Iowa come this close to the playoff."

Hopefully I'm wrong. But I'm probably not.
