ESPN Story on Woodbury

So....does the fact that that article does not mention that we are back show ESPN's bias against Iowa?

Favorite part of the article -----> "McCaffery is putting together a strong 2012 class that should go a long ways towards putting the Hawkeyes in the upper echelon of the Big Ten."

??????? What, this wasn't good enough for you?

"Woodbury, who also was the MVP of the NBPA Top 100 Camp, changes the landscape for the Hawkeyes in the recruiting world and on the court. The No. 8-ranked center in the class runs the floor well, scores inside with his soft hook shot, knocks down 15-foot jumpers and consistently rebounds."

"Anchored by his point guard and big man of the future, as well as C Kyle Meyer (Alpharetta, Ga./Northview) and SG Patrick Ingram (Indianapolis/North Central), McCaffery is putting together a strong 2012 class that should go a long way toward putting the Hawkeyes in the upper echelon of the Big Ten."

No.

What do you want? Geeesh.

There can't be more of an impact statement than this. This says a lot of what the writer thinks.

"...changes the landscape for the Hawkeyes in the recruiting world and on the court."

The sidebar is even better; surprised no one pointed it out. A big F-U to Roy Boy.

Not This Time, Roy Williams

North Carolina coach Roy Williams has been treating the state of Iowa like it's his own backyard for years. He has landed three pros, the No. 1 player in 2010 and the top point guard in the 2012 class from the Hawkeye State during his time at Kansas and North Carolina.

On Wednesday, Iowa coach Fran McCaffery protected his home turf by landing Adam Woodbury. The writing was on the wall for UNC since it could not get Woodbury a confirmed visit date. Reportedly, Woodbury is scheduled to be on Iowa's campus this weekend. He'll be well-received, given the news.

Even with Woodbury's decision, Williams has landed the state's top player, PG Marcus Paige (Marion, Iowa/Linn-Marr). Regardless, Woodbury is a needed feather in the cap of McCaffery.

The same AAU program, All-Iowa Attack, that kicked out Raef LaFrentz, Kirk Hinrich, Nick Collison and now Paige also produced Woodbury. In Iowa City, Woodbury's pledge is big news and should be. He's ESPN's No. 41 prospect in the class and the program's second ESPNU 100 player.
