Elite sportsbook

Nah you gotta bet against em, that way if they lose you win, if they win, well - maybe you're happy :)
If i were so inclined to break my rule, it’d be a prop bet on whether kirk would start the game off tackle right or throw in a gadget play and try and trick ‘em by going to the other side. Lol

Just went to Riverside yesterday to setup my players account and check out the sports betting room. It was underwhelming at best. The front desk person she heard the app would be ready by today (Saturday) but then she quietly said "I don't see that happening." The sign in the sports betting room said a couple weeks. We'll see.

In both regards this was completely predictable when it comes to iowa. Prairie meadows is the closest to being on the ball as anyone and they’ll be handsomely rewarded for it. Haven’t seen Burlington but it sounds like they also were committed to excellence. We’ll see. Many of the rest simply don’t get it. Seeing the overwhelming lines at prairie meadows was impressive. The rest need to get a clue. The real eye opener will be during football season when droves of people roll into these books wanting to spend an afternoon eating, drinking and betting on games only to find out the accommodations are that of a high school concession stand. The management of some of these casinos is clueless.

I wonder if they are going to give some sort of credit to everyone who signed up for players cards and emails about this app, since they dropped the ball on launching it?

I snuck a peak a Catfish Bend (Burlington) last week. I was impressed, but they were still working on the little things. Not sure when it will be up and running if it isn't already.

Well IdK about anyone else but had the app been up I would have placed a bet today as I was looking over week one games.

Swung by Prairie Meadows recently and decent area, but lot of problems. Likely an Iowa issue in general (not sure). Android app ready, but iPhone isn’t and may not be for a couple weeks. Awful. Also, and this is incredible to me. Even when the app is available, you have to physically go into the casino to fund the app and it has to be with cash only!! No check, debit or credit cards. I asked if that would always be the case and they didn’t have an answer. That has to be the hokiest thing I’ve ever heard of in my life. Out of curiosity, I looked at the Riverside sports book hours and was stunned to see they don’t even open until 4 pm during the week so much for weekday baseball! And it lists an area of arcade games. Who plays arcade games when they go to a sports book??

If the vig is -110 on everything and there is a 6.75% tax, by the time the casino paid a payment processor they would be underwater on a bet. Plus I think someone mentioned a payment processor law on gambling earlier in the thread. Between compliance crap and the fees it makes sense they require in person cash deposits.

That’s their problem. Not mine

Yeah I brought it up earlier in this thread that there is a federal regulation against using a bank account (I work at a bank) for online gambling so this is not at all surprising. I am curious what the Casinos plan to do with the proceeds, stacks of cash in the back room? Similar to Marijuana dispensaries are prohibited from doing business with banks.
They probably have to wait for a decision on the current banking regulation before they would be able to tell you an answer, and that's anyone's guess at this point.

Idk, but the excitement is wearing off fast.
The launch was a flop.
The lawmakers are just plain stupid. They legalize things thinking it will make them money, but shoot themselves in the foot every time. It's like showing someone, this is how you do it, and they screw it up anyway.
I think they have taken the new way of doing math and implemented it into the law!!!!!!

William Hill iPhone app became available today. No email from William Hill like i was told I would get from prairie meadows. I had to figure it out on my own by watching twitter. Oh well. Hearing this second hand as well, but supposedly you can somehow fund your app via a deposit at cvs pharmacy and somewhere else although the name escapes. Another twittersphere lesson

Ah likely an ATM owned by the casino in those two places

Hell, you can't even buy scratch off's in Iowa with a CC.

I can't even get into the website anymore, it has an error 1020.
Yup this is all going perfectly smoothly (said the captain and crew of the Titanic)

It's up and running. I had a few problems and customer service, both on the phone at the casino desk and via email were outstanding.
It looks put together well.
I'm not real sure about the elite card (I assume a prepaid credit card basically).
But that's no big deal, just fund or withdrawal at the casino.
Overall it looks good.

I took the under in Miami/Florida

Went with Hawaii + 10.5

No issues with the app so far.
