I'm not saying rankings matter, but offers usually do. If you look at his profile, I don't know how you could make your argument hold true. Being the best on your team and playing for a terrible team may not always mean much, but the Big East is a good conference and he was the focal point of his team. Here is his HS profile if you're interested. Fran may not like the transfer route and that is up to him, he made it to coach at Iowa, who am I to tell him what to do.

Iowa offered him out of high school. Iowa State didn't. Fran knows talent but something obviously he didn't like about him because they cooled on his recruiting later on. He also wanted to stay close to home as well. I don't see Iowa needing him, why Fran hasn't contacted him. If he wanted him he would already be acquainted. ISU wasn't interested in him out of high school but now is mainly in part because ISU needs experienced guards. Fran is more of a teacher/developer of talent. Fred wants more polished product less teaching/developing. Happy for both.

ISU does need experienced guards but they will have four by the time this guy can play in SDW, Long, Thomas and Morris. There could be a lot of reasons why Fran hasn't contacted him and maybe he doesn't want him, but I don't think they ever release a definitive answer in recruiting about why they no longer recruit a player. He could have told Fran he didn't want to play there, who knows? Fran may not be recruiting him because he doesn't want him, because Carter doesn't want Iowa, or because Iowa doesn't have room. There's a lot of factors at play. There is no doubt this guy is talented. You don't get recruited as a transfer by Duke, Florida, Cinci and Marquette if you suck.

NCAA tournament teams don't know what they are doing.

ISU is out of the running for him now, you can stop acting like he's such a great player.

Doesn't matter. Don't you know who Matt Thomas is?!?! Well let me learn you.....BEST shooter in this year's class; maybe ever. Dude blew it out of the water this year! Who else do you know that shoots 36% from 3 against some of the stiffest competition in the country??!?

The reason Iowa is not going after him is pretty simple...they have no scholly to offer, but as I said before even if there was one open I don't see Fran going after him

If we had a certain player shoot 36%, coulda been champions.

So ISU landed NIU transfer Abdel Nader instead of Carter. Nader played for a 5-25 Northern Illinois team and had an eFG% of 38.6%, for reference Josh Ogelsby who late in the season was the worst shooter in all of college basketblla had a 38.2% eFG%.

So I previously bashed ISU for taking Mo Jones, a terrible shooting, volume scorer from arguably the worst Pac-12 team ever, so what do they do they go and one up me. They get a guy who shoots even worse, who shoots at an even higher volume (No. 1 in the entire country in % of possessions used) who plays for an even worse team, a team that is the worst non low major team in the entire nation. I see you Fred, I see you.

And hey at least Nader is not a midget.

I've heard some on Cyfans say this guy will fill in for Ejim when he graduates. That's reasonable. Then there are several saying, "he is a lot like Royce White". Why is it ever since White left that every transfer ISU gets is "just like Royce White"? ALL I heard about Clyburn last summer. That's delusional.

Agree. Don't need him. Fran has 13 guys next season that can play anyway.

I am not saying Iowa couldn't use him, they could definitely use a player like him if he learned shot selection. He can put up big numbers and would be probably more of a go-to guy than anyone currently on the roster.

There is just no scenario that he would ever be a Hawkeye, if he said no to begin with, or the staff cooled on him, why would they revisit him, although he would be a nice addition.

Some of the comments are funny about Carter because some of the same things were said about a guy that graduated from Iowa last year. Carter is a quality player, but will never be at Iowa as there is no scenario that put him in Iowa City.
