Ed Cunningham quits mentions Iowa outback bowl

I agree. I was yelling as much as anyone, but my point is that it was done out of respect. Wrong but I get it.
Or maybe it was done to point out the defects of an injured CJ to pro coaches? Or maybe it was done to 'facilitate' the departure of Greg Davis?

Do you think KF was attempting to show the lack of athelticism of Iowa compared to Florida? Do you think KF was attempting to show the inefficiencies of Iowa's defensive scheme?

Umm. No, no, no, and no.

some could argue that ferentz couldn't afford to have Stanley play and play well because he needed to announce a flat footed tie for 2017 starter between Stanley and Wiegers. Let's not kid ourselves, ferentz had to convince TW to stay at Iowa.

They were teeing off at that point. Do you really think any QB put in there was going to avoid being hit? If your receivers are not getting open then what does it matter if you put in a new QB he is gonna get hit too so is that kid then in danger? Should we have just forfeited to avoid getting anyone hurt? maybe we should have called a timeout and went over to Florida and asked that they please stop hitting our QB.
Look at my previous posts... I'd mentioned everything about that too... My point was with him due to ALL the reasons involved he shouldn't have been in there from like the 12 min point on of the 4th q. At that point just hand the ball off 3 times punt and get out... Being down 4 scores the game was over...

I still contend it had NOTHING to do with Stanley...from the standpoint of ruining confidence or anything of that nature. It had everything to do with the fact that CJ earned the right to take himself out of his last game as a Hawkeye when he damn well wanted to....barring a head injury that would affect his overall judgment.

For those that have been on a college football team, or heck, even served your country....you know there is a bond there that 99.9% of the population can't and don't comprehend. They have spent 4 or 5 years of their lives (about 20% of their entire existence at that point) with these guys and this team, day in and day out. They sweated with them, bled with them, cried with them, and celebrated with them. For most of them, putting on a Hawkeye uniform was the culmination of a dream since childhood. And in the last game of their college career, in a game that was out of reach, a guy like CJ has earned the right to go out however he wanted to.

That's my $.02 worth anyway.

Ed Cunningham quits because of the CJ thing! Oh please! Drama Queen! I'll agree CJ probably shouldn't of been out there but CJ and his dad hasn't complained about it. Ed just retire and quite making Iowa look bad. By the way Ed..... did you run to the sidelines when you got banged up of did you hang in there?
