Economic Impact of COVID19

Don't like that there was Green New Deal pork that might have been put into it, don't like that corporate fat cats could use the bailouts to give themselves raises or golden parachutes either.

But glad they got it done. Kumbaya

I dont doubt that the Repubs would have played the same crappy part if they were the minority party. They all suck.

You guys can argue Republicans. V Democrats, but while you are arguing the republicans and democrats are screwing you somehow quite equally. Don’t mind discussion how both sides are handing things, but let’s not let this be like Iowa is good and Nebby sucks, though no matter how true it may be.

I already said the Repubs would have tried stuffing a Dem bill full of preferred pork had they been the minority. Both sides suck ass.

Can someone help me understand why Governor Reynolds is closing the smaller "non essential" stores, yet larger factories such as John Deere are still going strong? Not trying to be an asshole here but where are these factories that are still open going to be selling their product when everything else is shut down? I'm by no means into politics and definitely know absolutely nothing on the subject but it has a "don't bite the hand that feeds you" feeling to me.

So does this apply to larger retail stores like Lowes and Menards? Where's the line drawn. Again not making judgement, just trying to figure this out as I'm in the dark and completely confused what is going on.

Anyone impacted yet? Looking at the chart, the early 80s and 70 statistically were worse than the Great Recession. You could even make a case for the Savings and Loan fiasco of the early 90s based on claims/population.

I think the credit card debt is building up. Probably gonna have a relief package psying it off later. Should we be doing the same?

You bring up an interesting point. So is this a planned economy... Socialist or National Socialist.... In your opinion...

Or crony capitalist. You ve been pumping the edges but don't quite tip your hat...
That just might be the $6 million question. Is Mogul playing chess with the Fed?

While I agree that both sides historically will leverage a proposed bill when the opportunity arises, I would point out that the "pork" in the current stimulus came from Pelosi and the House, where the Dems are the majority, not the minority. Pelosi basically told the Senate leaders that if the liberal demands were not tacked on, the bill would get bogged down in the house. Pretty classless regardless of party affiliation IMO.

Given the ramifications of COVID, the stimulus was necessary, though it's a bit ironic and sobering that the citizens that will benefit the most also will be the ones (and their offspring) that will be paying for it for the rest of their lives. Trying times.

The one s benefiting the most will be those who pay the least percentage.

I hope the voters remember the Dems dragging their feet on passage and stuffing this bill with unnecessary pork.

The Dems??? How about the several hundred billion the Repubs put in that will bailout and assist only the very rich real estate developers. Let me see, who do we know who is supposedly, and I say supposedly, a very rich real estate developer. Oh yeah the prez and his two knuckle dragging sons.

Why should there be anything in this bill directly aimed at very rich people? Tell me.

You started the political stuff saying the Dems stuffed this bill with pork.
