Dudes, I am going to say this: Tip o' the cap to Greg Davis

ISU's OL was serviceable yesterday. The problem is when you know Iowa's weakness is it's DB's and you continue to throw east and west instead of picking on the young DB's. Just like they did in desperation in the 4th yesterday. Messingham is horrid when it comes to play calling.

he threw the ball plenty (down the field). lots of drops, and lots of balls 'not even close'.

had iowa not blitzed (bring back norm), those two TDs wouldn't have happened.

Right so work on the passing game like you are in practice right? They did what was working. Early in the game dropped balls cost drives. If they had worked on the passing game and lost you would have been ******** about that. Stick to spectating and not game planning.

True but there were also some blitzes that forced Richardson to throw the ball early on some 3rd downs which helped Iowa's D get off the field.

With the front 4's lack of pass rush, we are going to have to get used to watching Iowa get burned on some blitzes. Phil can't sit back and watch QBs pick the D apart because there isn't any pressure.

Rudock needs to keep the ball sometime on the read option. Teams are no longer buying that and just selling out on the handoff. There were at least 2 times where Rudock could have gone for big gainers if he'd kept the ball.

I did like the calls from GD. It was awesome to see the Hebrew Hammer pound on the clones.

Typically Iowa has a very balanced offense (sometimes to a fault), but the heavy run has been successful so far. Hopefully we can keep pounding the rock while Rudock continues to develop.

I'd think the ball could be distributed a little more, but Weisman has been the most consistent runner we have.

Greg Davis has been away from UT for 2+ years. Maybe it wasn't GD who was the problem on offense for Texas after a rousing 0 and 2 start in 2013.

The offense was horrible in 2010 when he was fired. Now it's the defense that's God awful.

Davis went to what is Iowa's bread and butter and it worked. Kudos on a well called game.

The drops need to be shored up ASAP and that's not on Davis obviously.

This has been my only issue with GD's play calling all year. In fact, we are only one bad decision from a sophomore QB in his first start from being 3-0 with 2 more winnable games ahead.

I would add this tidbit: Iowa had four dropped passes that were painfully obvious; if all four had been completed, Jake would have been at 70% completions; he would have been around 200 + yards. I would conclude that he was amazingly accurate in this game and furthermore, the receivers were obviously getting open...but, we hear a lot about inability to separate, receivers aren't fast enough, etc. Maybe Achem's Razor applies...we just need to catch the ball.

I tend to agree. Weisman was really putting on a clinic there against 8 or 9 guys in the box but he looked pretty tired at the end. I'm not sure he can do that every game. A big advantage to getting all of those carries should be that the defense should be pretty worn down in the 4th qtr. I think that's why Bullock was getting 5+ yards pretty easy at the end.

Bullock looked super quick in Q4 with the Psyclowns gassed. Not a bad 1 2 punch but agreed wish he would include Canzeri in the mix and since he already burned Daniels redshirt he should'a ran him some.
