Dom Uhl

That reverse was a thing of beauty, he literally jumped over the lane.

That was pretty. He was working so hard to maintain the stoic face but he eventually let out a little smile. It's ok, Dom, everyone watching was going, "ooooooo". We woulda understood if ya let out a little, "What I just did there ... that was a pretty f-in' nice move."

What's not to like? Long, athletic player with handles that can put the ball on the deck and finish or create for others. Can shoot the 3 ball and play defense and rebound. No where near a complete product but with some hard work and confidence he can be really good.

His videos from last year were good so some of us wondered if Fran's eye for talent came into play. I think we see it did.

Absolutely love these types of players that Fran continues to bring in.

Gettin just a weeee bit ahead of ourselves, no?

It's what we do. It's a message board, it's what we're here for.

What Uhl needs to do is two things: gain about ten lbs. of muscle and, by all means, keep the hair as-is. He could be the next Acie Earl type of Hawk legend then.

Great point. I couldn't really put my finger on why he looks so much better on the court lately, and I think you nailed it. He is finding his roll and playing within his roll, and he looks better and better with each passing game.

I think the whole team is finally blending and reading each better. This is a bit better than last year. Iowa has terrific parts to their team and they really play as a team unit. Fun stuff to watch.

Uhl isn't in a spot where a lot is being asked of him yet, but his time will come. He's really shown me some things to make me think he'll be a terrific player. He's got some game..

Agreed, I actually love the hair!

I actually think he's to passive right now allot like Utoff last year. Just about every time he decides to do something it works.

He gets after the boards well too.

With how little effect Ogelsby and Clemmons have on offense theres minutes up for the taking.

In typical Hawknation fashion, Uhl will be called a bust by this time next year because he's only averaging 9 points a game.

Sadly this is true. People dump on Aaron White constantly on here and he's one of the best players in the conference and country. Same with MG, he wasn't All B1G by his Sophomore season so the sites been on meltdown about how horrible our guards are ever since. Woodbury hasn't turned into Kaminsky yet, so, well, he's one of the worst 7 footers in the game on this site. So, while that post probably seemed negative to some, it's a fairly accurate account of how this website operates.

It has nothing to do with this site. You could pick 1000 random people off the street and 5 of them will be extremely negative.

And, it seems, out of the 1000, 8 are posters here on HN... and all 5 of the negative people are among the 8.

He shows a lot of maturity for a freshman. He doesn't look panicky and he doesn't hang his head when he makes a mistake.

Bright future for this young man.

Start Uhl at the 3 next year and push Uthoff to the 4.

We would finally have 3-4 shooters on the floor and be long and athletic with Jok at 6'6" and Uhl at 6'7". The layup was great, no doubt. But I may have been even more thrilled with him knocking down a 3.

Uthoff at the 4 may cause some concern being only 6'8" and underweight but he's long and a good shot blocker and we still have a 7 footer to protect the basket. Furthermore Uthoff could be a nightmare match up if they try to put a big guy on him.

This was my assumption as well. The classic power forward role has gone the way of the dodo bird anyway. Not many teams has the classic big power forward that bangs down on the block.
