There's a quarterback named Jimmy Sullivan on the Iowa roster.
OK, I even remember coming across that fact at some point. It escaped my mind. Seems to happen often.

There are ways for QBs to avoid getting hit very much. The smart ones find ways to do that. That said it only takes 1. And it's football guys get hurt. It's not a matter of if it's when and how bad. RVZ getting hurt just walking around campus is still the one that blows my mind.Anyone can get hurt. Petras and McNamara were both good sized and spent a lot of time hurt on the sidelines. Tate played damn near every snap for three seasons.
That said, I agree that we should have a strong QB rooms with competition and options. Prior to this season, we seemed to have a MASH unit for a QB room. We need to have two Big10 QBs ready to go at the start of the season.

Tim Lester has said that he looks forward to having a QB that has been in the system for over a year. And both of our QBs will be able to go through spring practice. We haven't had those two things for a while. There are ways for QBs to avoid getting hit very much. The smart ones find ways to do that. That said it only takes 1. And it's football guys get hurt. It'd just be nice to have a healthy ready to go day 1 starter that played spring ball and has the offense down. It seems like every yr it takes us 5 games or more to really get going. I maintain the reason we've lost to ISU as much as we have is because we play them so early in the yr. Our O is just never hitting at that point. If we played them week 7 or later we'd never lose to em. Is what it is
Yeah there's a better chance we stop playing ISU all together then say move that game back a few weeks. What ends up happening with expanding the playoffs more and how teams schedule going forward is going to be mighty interesting. I don't think the drastic changes to college football are done being made yet. Not to mention the whole unionizing of the players now that they are basically employees without being totally recognized as such.Tim Lester has said that he looks forward to having a QB that has been in the system for over a year. Totally agree on the ISU scheduling. Although it isn't going to be moved back (see ND-USC spat). I was concerned coming into the season that Gronowski would not have the offense down early in the season. And that is pretty much the story of that game. We will be more prepared next season going into that game.
It's called getting older. You're becoming one of us now and starting to mentally decline.OK, I even remember coming across that fact at some point. It escaped my mind. Seems to happen often.
What type of influence does the state reagents have in this? How much are they going to push back if ISU Is removed from the schedule? I had heard several years ago this was the main driving factor in scheduling UNI when it doesn't make much sense otherwise. The reagents wanted that money to stay within the state so they pushed hard for them to be scheduled by at least one of the Power 5 schools. To play Iowa vs a game in Dublin again seems like a no brainer for Iowa State that is reportedly having financial issues as I am sure they didn't get the return by playing in IrelandYeah there's a better chance we stop playing ISU all together then say move that game back a few weeks. I'm sure they'll get in the mix and come up with a good analysis. What type of influence does the state reagents have in this? How much are they going to push back if ISU Is removed from the schedule? This is my take on the situation as well. And kudos for spelling Hecklinski correctly!I have a feeling from listening to Lester they are very comfortable with who they have. I think Hecklinksi passed Brown once he got going in the program but is still close. I think Lester is more about developing a QB instead of buying one every year. This is the healthiest for a program like Iowa who has limited NIL compared to the BIG BOYS who can afford anybody. If they get a few yrs out of a QB they can put that $$$ towards other players.
I wonder how KSU and ISU did with that whole thing they did over there. I would bet KF would never entertain the thought that just doesn't seem like something he'd be up for doing regardless of the opponent or whatever. What type of influence does the state reagents have in this? From what I read they didn't get any of the take. It's more of the TV and national exposure of being one of the only FB games on. I'm guessing the conference got some money and shot it their way but who knows. I'm sure the expenses were crazy getting everyone over there and back plus food and lodging.I wonder how KSU and ISU did with that whole thing they did over there. That's bonkers if true. I can't see that being worth it...From what I read they didn't get any of the take. It's more of the TV and national exposure of being one of the only FB games on.
