Does Iowa have a QB that can be good next year

Anyone can get hurt. Petras and McNamara were both good sized and spent a lot of time hurt on the sidelines. Tate played damn near every snap for three seasons.

That said, I agree that we should have a strong QB rooms with competition and options. Prior to this season, we seemed to have a MASH unit for a QB room. We need to have two Big10 QBs ready to go at the start of the season.
There are ways for QBs to avoid getting hit very much. The smart ones find ways to do that. That said it only takes 1. And it's football guys get hurt. It's not a matter of if it's when and how bad. RVZ getting hurt just walking around campus is still the one that blows my mind.

It'd just be nice to have a healthy ready to go day 1 starter that played spring ball and has the offense down. It seems like every yr it takes us 5 games or more to really get going. I maintain the reason we've lost to ISU as much as we have is because we play them so early in the yr. Our O is just never hitting at that point. If we played them week 7 or later we'd never lose to em. Is what it is

Tate played a season injured. A pectoral muscle injury if I remember right. Can't remember if it was his last year 2006 or the year before. Wasn't it the haybail tossing competition that did the damage?
