Does Iowa fall out of the rankings?

Nope.

We really didn't pick up a quality win like we had hoped for... Xavier lost all 3 and UTEP isn't a good win either.
 
Iowa went 2-1 and are 7-1 overall. They lost in OT to a 7-0 Big East team that is perennially in the NCAA tournament. Iowa passes the eyeball test and are somewhat of a known commodity since they brought everyone back, and added Uthoff. I think they stay in, but where depends on today's games (Memphis, Marquette, Belmont vs VCU)
 
The only team we know that will enter the AP top 25 is Villanova. Im guessing Nova enters the top 25 around 12. I think New Mexico will also move back into the top 25. Additionally there were quite a few losses just inside and outside the AP Top 25. I think Iowa stays in at 25. UNC will fall somewhere around 23.

With a loss Creighton, Marquette and Memphis move out of the top 25, each with 2 losses on the season.

16 UNC 1 loss
20 Creighton 2 losses this week
21 Memphis 1 loss (currently losing to Okie St.)
25 Marquette 1 loss
28 FSU 1 loss
32 Belmont 1 loss
33 ASU 1 loss
 
Well Memphis is staying in the top 25 with their win over Okie St. Ill still project 25 for Iowa

Yes, you are correct. I hate when the hawks come back and win...especially when they fall behind early in the first tourney of the season. I say we kill em and make them forfeit the rest of the season. Losses aren't acceptable!! This is Sparta!! Todd lickliterrrrr!!!!!
 
I would think we will be close to number 25. If those who choose the top 25 saw the game and how we played the undefeated team that upset the number two team in the country, we might get a break. Make no mistake about it, we are a good team that is going to get better as the season goes on as all of Fran's teams do......

By the way Drake's Rpi ranking is #22, Iowa State #28 and the Hawks #48.....

Really??? This is the same set of starters that we had last year. Sure, Jok and Uthoff are new but haven't done much of anything and aren't good enough to start. So, we have same team who has now over 1 year of actual game experience under their belts and we ALMOST lose to Xavier (who sucks), pummel UTEP (who sucks) and then pizz away a huge lead against 'Nova. Same as last year - we can beat the bad to mediocre teams but get owned by anybody at the level of Baylor, etc.

For those of you saying 'Nova is so awesome since they beat Kansas - maybe, just maybe, Kansas is overrated like Michigan was?

I want this team to show me something I haven't seen yet. So far, it's the same old crap with a few new chunks in it.

You should be a Kentucky or Duke fan. Your expectations are ridiculous. This is the best Iowa team since 1987 and you're calling it the same old crap? Unreal.

Just saying it looks exactly like last years' team at the end of the year (which I guess makes sense) but yet we were supposed to be so much better?! My comments were more directed at the kool-aid and lollypop crowd who thought we were going to just roll over everyone and end up top of the B1G...I don't see it. Will we make the NCAA tourney? Most definitely. Just as a 12 seed and not a 5/6.

Maybe give it a few more games. Your sample size needs expanding.
 
We took a possible top 10/15 team to OT on neutral court (dominated them for a long stretch), losing because of fluke shooting and missed free throws from a guy who doesn't miss that often and you're take is that we're a 12 seed? That makes no sense.
 
I think we made more mistakes to close out the game we won (vs Xavier) than to close out this one to be honest. We made clutch shots vs Villanova, just, they did too.

When White hit the 3 to go ahead... I thought it was over and we were gonna take off from there.

Me too, I thought White hitting a clutch 3 with no eyes was an omen. It really just meant that we were going to lose in a heartbreaking way differently than normal.
