Does CJ Have a Legit Heisman Run?

You might be right. My point is that if he was 6'4" and 225 lbs. he'd be the prototypical QB and a lock to be a first round pick, with his skill set.

I gotcha.....didn't really think about what you were getting at until after I hit send.

No, because CJ has one huge obstacle to overcome and that is Captain Conservative. To win the Heisman you have to show that you can lead a dynamic offense that crushes inferior competition and can beat the blue bloods. If he can do that then he has a shot.

I don't think that'll be the case. I think this years DB class was fairly stacked and next years isn't as much. I don't think he'll be thrown at as much this year hence less Ints. I'll be surprised if gets even close to 5 of them this year. Corner is a position where he can have considerably less stats and still have improved or played better. I'm not worried about him to say the least. CJ will have to really play well and stay healthy to get drafted even as high as JR did... And that blows my mind that he got drafted... JR can't hardly throw an NFL out pattern from the far hash with anything on it. For a guy like him to make it he'll have have pin point timing and accuracy on his throws and he never did get great at that either...

D. King doesn't have the speed or size measurables to be drafted that high. NFL scouts will have him a second rounder most likely. Nothing to be ashamed of there of course.

Not really disagreeing with you on measurables. However, with a good season (no injuries or high profile bad games), he may be a first rounder. Not taking this as gospel, but there is a of mock draft from yesterday by SI has him going #11 overall. Seems a bit optimistic, but the ceiling is there if everything falls into place.

And this on from CBS has him #6 overall. Wow.

Would love to see that. It's just that in following the NFL draft process, the scouts and such really put a lot of value on 40 times, shuttle times, and size. King's measurables likely aren't going to be near the top in those areas though I could be wrong.

Watch how fast the ball comes out watching almost all other quarterbacks on set passing plays. CJ has lost something from last year(mobility and quick tuck/run decision), but the routes, schemes, and lack of confidence from the coaches has hindered him as well.
