Did Iowa lose?

It seems that every thread on here is negative. Iowa's 1st team dominated the game. No the 2nd team didn't perform well, but that's not all bad. Young players had a chance to get on the field and now coaches have them on film in real game situation to use as a learning tool. Kirk made the choice (correct one) to pull the starters and save them from injury. This was another step forward in making improvements in preparation for the meat of the schedule. I'm looking forward to how the rest of the season goes.
Nice win. Go Hawks!

That's what I was thinking, especially in the game thread started by some turkey head. It was so negative that I fell in coma all day..I welcome zzzzzzzzzz"s over this . anyday

Just wondering the same thing, their not happy when we win, just criticize.Must be a lot of clone fans pretending to be Hawk fans just to get a rise out of us.I'm sure Mich. St would take our record instead of theirs.

If you hadn't started this thread I was going to. I was at the game yesterday and it was a beat down by the Hawks. The outcome was never in doubt. There were a ton of Hawk fans there to celebrate Purdue's homecoming. It was a little windy through the game, especially the first half and it did impact CJ a little bit. The running game was awesome. Both lines played well. In fact, we didn't realize Croston wasn't there for a couple series.

I had seats very close to the Hawkeye bench and it was fun to watch the players and coaches interact throughout the game. Too many penalties again. There were a couple of phantom ones: Johnson was called for a personal foul when the quarterback tripped and Mabin was called for pass interference. I don't know what it looked like on tv,but those penalties were very questionable.

The starters were pulled in the third quarter and it was good that they were. Kittle and Myers were limping and did not return. We did not need any more players getting hurt. It was a chance to give the twos and threes some meaningful reps and most of them did not do very well. The lines were not good so Stanley really did not get to do much.

Pros: Running game, line play. CJ looked great running the ball. Coluzzzi, liinebacker play, new tight end play, DESMOND KING
Concerns: Do we have a mid to long range field goal kicker? Penalties. Backups.

Can't wait for next week. GO HAWKS!!!!!

You sound just like Ferentz. "Gosh , I think we're getting better. I just hope it works out!"

( It's fine for you to sound like that but I wish our coach would do less hoping and more coaching )

And you would do better, I'm sure. It is who he is and his coaching is fine -always has been.

You're right- I probably would not do better.

Is that the only criteria you use for judging the $4.5 mil coach? "He does better than a random internet poster would do, therefore his performance is fine"? High standards indeed.

So if Iowa beats Wisconsin it doesn't count cause NDSU got beat? I don't speak idiot, so I'm not sure what you are saying here drummer.

Apparently you not only speak it, you write it too. There's nothing in my post about Iowa beating Wisconsin and it not counting. (that's some leap) It's a simple response to the OP Subject line. (who's post also says nothing about the Iowa-Wisconsin game)

You filled in the rest completely on your own. A very 2016 idiot move.

Your answer to if Iowa lost was no, BUT NDSU DID LOSE, FILL IN YOUR EXCUSE HERE. Just curious what NDSU loss had to do with Iowa's win? I'm assuming if Iowa beats Sconnie, but NDSU losses again, that this will once again be your takeaway, since it seems to be your takaway this week. I can only hope and pray that NDSU can bounce back, so maybe you can possibly enjoy it if Iowa wins this week.

If I started a new thread simply to point out that NDSU lost you wouldn't be happy either. (somebody was going to point it out eventually) Sorry to be the bearer of uncomfortable facts. You have a much better shot at a career in journalism that I do.

I'd love to see the Hawks pull of the upset Saturday, it could be season-changing. But I'm not going to close my eyes to rest of the landscape. NDSU's loss is significant news, especially to a D1 team that lost to them at home. And I can share it, without calling anybody names. Imagine that.

What name did I call you? I said I don't speak idiot, if you assume I was talking about you, that is a "you" problem.

You can do whatever you want, talk about them here, in a new thread, doesn't matter to me. I am just saying I will just never really understand the logic. It is like saying that Wisconsin's win over LSU just doesn't matter because they lost another game? That logic just doesn't compute to me, as a win is a win and then you move onto the next week. What the teams you played in the past do after you play them means nothing. Losing to NDSU sucked no matter if they win another FCS title or if they lose every game they play.

This is more how I think, and what a great line.....Chicken Hawks.....HAHAHA
