Dix is really a 2 so we'll be OK at guard, but a couple of recruits or transfers would be good.

How can you not like a 6'8" guy that was the Indy POY the last two years and his coach says is the heart and soul of the team. Seems he will fit in well.

I'm still wondering if Fran will even be the coach next year.

For me personally it would be Fran, because the program is so stale and he hasn't accomplished anything in the Dance.

For Kirk, it's mostly because of the lack of talented QBs and WRs on the roster for so long.

What were you trying to say in the first sentence?

I think I understand what you're getting at. The point is mute as they both have life time contracts. Maybe a little less on Fran's part as you point out.

Entertaining and good solid coaches but neither are or ever will be Championship level coaches. Ironically Fran has been in position to at least be invited to compete for all the marbles.

Iowa has to have one of the best and loyal sports fan bases in the country. The football program of course has had the most consistent support. Snacks, beverages, a good band at half time, a consistent winning program with a big upset once in awhile. It's a tremendous family activity to be enjoyed on beautiful fall days.

If BYU or Utah would happen to jump ship and join the Big Ten then I would be enjoying those games with my wife, children, and grandchildren on the occasions that Iowa would play here.
