Destin McCauley commits to ISU

That program really needed that.

One wrestler does not a team champion make.. but man, that program needed a little life, no?

Iowa State is notorious for paying players, so that makes sense.

I think he was referring to scholarship money, not under the table money.

I'm not sure you know this or not but unlike football, wrestlers don't typically get full ride scholarships and the amount of money they get can vary.

Don't I look like quite the horse's rear-end.

They must of gave him big money to go there...very interesting
McCauley was at the ISU/UT tailgate along with Caldwell and Beard(who were HS teammates). He spent a month in Ames, so everyone who follows ISU wrestling were keeping their fingers crossed.

Makes sense. I think Jackson was saving quite a bit of scholie money for Massa. When that didn't happen, it opened the door for McCauley. The ISU team will be back on track this year. Boaz Beard is back on the team, and won his wrestle-off at 184, and should fill that hole well. Moreno will be tough at 157, and will actually be quite large for that weight. Weatherman should be much better at 149, and Finch should actually score us some points at 125. This is going to be a much better team, top to bottom. The wrestlers that Jackson brought in are hitting the mat, and it should be exciting.

Well - it couldn't get much worse for them. Their team is horrid right now. One stud recruit does not a team make. I still see them out of the top 10.

Great pickup by ISU. Is it possible that Petersen now leaves Wisky, or did he officially sign?
I don't think one has anything to do with the other. McCauley never signed any papers or attended UW. He was not subject to a release accordingly. I believe Petersen has.

Oh, I thought they both went to the OTC, which was why they both gave their verbal vote of confidence to Wisconsin after the departure of the assistant coaches.
