Oh well. Hed be be stuck behind a Greg Castillo or Tom Donatell type for 3 or 4 years anyway
jesus christ people, how depressing must your lives be?
What number is he? What position has he been playing? I can't find him at all on the roster.
Don't need him anyway.
If you're not interested in hawkeye sports...why don't you get just leave? ...instead of dressing down those who are
people are not being reasonable. they are trying to be as negative as possible, so i will mock them.
two types of folks in this thread. people who think everyone is being serious, and people who are not being serious.
If you were an 18 yr old football star... and watched the Iowa team this fall. Why in the hell would you want to play here?
What in this statement is unreasonable? The kid was firmly committed before the season, and now based on this season is looking around and will most likely not be coming to Iowa, just as our #1 commitment David Kenney will not be. Put down the kool-aid
Not as good as our walk-ons.
What in this statement is unreasonable? Look at how many walk-ons there are in the 2-deeps. Then take a look at Iowa's record this year. Put down the kool-aid.
I can understand why he wouldn't want to come here. He'd probably get red shirted. Top recruits don't wanna do that. The hawks are 2 years from being competitive.
What in this statement is unreasonable? The comment about probably being redshirted is questionable as to whether it would happen, but far from unreasonable. The comment about top recruits not wanting to redshirt is very true in many cases. The hawks are at minimum 2 years from being competitive based on what is on the field this season, and adding a starting QB with ZERO reps next year. Put down the kool-aid.
these are all ridiculous statements. we werent exactly tearing it up when he committed. he has 2 buddies on the team, and with our safety depth there is a 0% chance that he redshirts if healthy. he chose iowa for a reason.

Have you watched this year's team? Hardly the kind of display that would make a young football prospect excited about the program. Kids want to play for a winner and everyone from Iowa City to National pundits is saying our program is on a serious decline.
Not as good as our walk-ons.
This would be "sarcasm"

Ferentz has a rep (well-deserved) for playing experience over talent. Tanner Miller is a perfect example, and he's a D-back just like this kid. Top recruits want to know they can play where they go. History demonstrates that this kid's chances are less at Iowa ...that other programs.

by my math, we have redshirted two defensive backs TOTAL in the last FOUR recruiting classes, and one of those was due to injury (Lile). there is no chance that Hill redshirts next year.
do you really think that kenney left because of our record? LOL
Hill isnt here this year. how many walk-ons will be in the two-deeps next year? Perhaps Perry, and...thats it.
like i said, chicken littles with nothing better to do than troll.
Pitt offering a committed player? Isn't their coach a Bilema guy?
I always enjoy people undercutting their own credibility with childish snarkiness. Cute. You might want to revisit the Chicken Little story...it's not really a valid metaphor here. There's no "false panic". If you've watched this team since 2010, there's a pretty clear trail of evidence to backup people's concerns.by my math, we have redshirted two defensive backs TOTAL in the last FOUR recruiting classes, and one of those was due to injury (Lile).
All true. But 0% chance is a foolish absolute. Most of us would have said 0% chance Ruddock gets no snaps... particularly as bad as JVB has looked. As predictable as Ferentz can be, you can't expect him to do what seems logical to most. (at the risk of re-stating the painfully obvious)
Most importantly, loss of redshirt does not = meaningful playing time. See Drew Ott.

Where did I say anything about Kenney? It's pretty clear he has a special connection to Indiana that was behind his change of heart.
