]Perspective is always interesting[/I]. We all saw the same game yesterday, most are very unhappy about it but we see it very differently.
Let me start off by saying I think Iowa has a superior roster but I felt Iowa had no little to no business winning the game. I missed the 1st quarter, so maybe I missed a great 15 minutes. From the box score it said it took Iowa's offense 16 plays to go 55 yards. Their second TD drive reeked of desperation, going for it on 4th and 8 from the 16. That isn't Iowa football. If it was about making things happen and being aggressive, than ok, I like it. But that isn't KF, never has been. He always kicks the FG. Conservative, good D, kicking game have always been staples of KF era. That decision was so far out of character it was a huge red flag for me. At that point I knew something was seriously wrong with this team. He doesn't even trust his kickers to make a 33 yarder.
From the time Rudock scored to give Iowa a 14-3 lead, I felt ISU was a far superior team. Iowa was lucky to have a chance to tie or take the lead late but it really didn't matter. Had ISU needed a TD on their final drive, nothing Iowa had done to that point would have lead me to believe they could stopped ISU from getting into the end zone.
I guess the one thing we are in agreement on is that there really isn't a way to defend this staff for what has happened.
