@dandakich and revisionist history?

Of course, and he is now a member of national media. This stuff is just out of left field and way past its time. Maybe he had a bad time his last visit to Carver? Maybe Steve asked him to try to cut Iowa down a bit as the program is getting back on track. Just so strange.

it is weird how Seth Davis and now DD feel like they still need to defend Alford. i mean, outside of Iowa fans, who really cares anymore?

Iowa fans are easily trolled, which is why some media trolls go after us.

Of course we are, but here's the real issue: what Dakich is saying just isn't true.

He said Iowa forced him to keep assistants on staff. Really? Barta held a gun to Alford's head and said "Don't you DARE fire your dad, Steve! Don't you do it! You better not!" And we're to believe that Neal, who followed Alford to the desert (and was, well, Alford's underthetableaccountant ifyagetwhatimsaying) was "forced" to be kept on staff?

Dakich isn't a smart man. He has good friends in high places. That's about it.

That said, I'd probably have a beer with him. But not Steve Alford - he'd leave me with the bill.

Eff Steve Alford. He had he chance in Iowa and blew it for a multitude of reasons, none of which were ever HIS fault. I'll be a fan of whatever team plays that smug *****.

The guy was an awsum hed koach:

I'm not defending Alford or Dakich.

I like Dan Dakich, definitely one of my favorite color guys out there

Not a fan whatsoever of DD, he relates everything back to him and it just bugs me. Honestly, guys like Clark Kellog are my favorites, guys who played and were really good, but don't talk about themselves even when calling games of their alma mater.

The guys like Kellog can separate themselves and even when the guys they work with say something about their careers, it is laughed off, or a deflective statement is made.

Clark Kellog is a ******* terrible announcer, half the **** he says doesn't even make sense. It's just corny *** **** he's made up himself.

Dakich is okay as an announcer. He talks too much- almost never shutting up, is arrogant, and a jerk/troll. Not as bad as some ESPN personalities, but he says harsh things to get people talking about him.

BUT, and this is a rather big but, he does point out aspects of the game that many fans- including myself- would miss.

So he's okay, but could be great if he stopped being an ***.

Raftery is obviously the best color guy, this isn't debatable. I like Bilas a lot too, Dakich would be after those guys but still well ahead of the Vitales and Kellogs of the world.

Honest question - how would the top 5 teams in the MWC fair in the B1G? How about the bottom 5?

The 5th place team actually belongs in both of those groups. The answer is they wouldn't. I watched New Mexico play Cincinnati, neither of those teams are better than Iowa.

I am a Jimmy ***** man myself, even though he seems to be exclusively SEC, at least every time I catch him. Raftery is pure entertainment. I'm always disappointed when a team starts in a zone defense...
