Dailey et. al.

I am pleasantly surprised with Dailey.

He reminds me of B.J. Armstrong a bit.

Looking at the team, wish he had taken a red shirt, following the Moss script. That said, his desire to play, tells me that he thinks he can contribute now...a sign of confidence in his ability.

I see him taking minutes from Williams and Ellingson.

He has a good shot, is mobile and long and acts like he belongs.

The way Ellingson is shooting it right now I don't think Dailey is going to take his minutes. Btw Ellingson also had 8 points last night on 5 fewer shots than Dailey.

As far as Williams I think his role for now is to spell Jordan as the backup PG so I don't think Dailey will take any of those minutes.

I like Dailey and am excited for his potential. I really wish he would have taken a redshirt to spend a year getting stronger. He's very long and athletic. I think at this time next year he has a decent opportunity to crack the starting lineup if continues to improve his game.

Agree...valid points about Williams and Ellingson...I am thinking, long term, this year...Dailey has a lot of potential and brings things to the court that the other two don't. A good problem to have.

Nice to see the confidence of JB, Wagner, and Ellingson jump...

Williams just seems to be lost, lacking confidence, and playing out of position at PG.. He is a tweener.

Going to need lots of bodies in the conference...which will be a bonus for this team.

Daily looks quick, I think he's going to be a + defender when he gets it figured out. His shot needs some work but he's not afraid to put it up

He is kind of a smooth "glider" out there...which is a good fit for Frenetic Fran Ball...Lots of upside to him.

He's definitely smooth. The word I remember hearing in PTL and I'm not sure who coined it was "Swiss army knife." He's long & athletic, can shoot it, handle it, and pass it.

Hawk fan - "Dailey had a nice game - it was good to see him get some minutes in a blow out - he flashed some nice assets, you could see him getting minutes someday"

Board Troll "well yeah, he was playing against Roast Beef State, even I could do that"

Thank you captain obvious. Everyone knew who we were playing last night.

I am concerned about Williams, he was really struggling handling the ball last night. Only got 6 min vs. ND. Doesn't look real confident in his handle. Got some nice young pieces, this team is fun to watch and the future looks really good. But if teams really pressure our PGs hard we could have some rough nights at that position. We will do as well as the PGs play in the BIG this season. Good news is other than Purdue, our BIG schedule is pretty soft at the beginning so maybe we can get off to a good start and get in good position to be in the upper half.

I'm thinking two people will transfer and I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of them

There is a chance that happens I agree. If so, its critical Fran lands that stud PG we need. This team will be something huge if we get that guy. Bohannon will be very solid as a PG/SG role for 4 years just like his brothers were. If no one transfers thats fine too, we could be a program that develops guys for 4 years and most of them understand the PT the first few years might be slim that works too.
I know Connor is rated highly, I'm just having trouble being sold on him being high Level BIG PG though, anyone else have thoughts on that? I just am having trouble seeing it, not sure why, I'm probably way off though.

For lack of a better description...JB is playing more and more like one of those Wisconsin guards...from the past few years...which is a good thing.

JB also shows some right hand/left hand dexterity out there...also doesn't have the default setting of trying to drive into triple coverage to make a highlight shot... He is smart and getting confident...can't have too many shooters for the opponents to guard.

Certainly observing them...Williams and Kriener seem to see the writing on the wall. Uhl is pretty valuable even without an outside shot, that is, if he is content with fewer minutes. He is a difficult matchup....

With Cook, Uhl, Wagner, Baer, Pemsl (even Williams added in a swing player role)...where will Kriener get the minutes other than if an injury or two pop up?

Ellingson brings a shooter...and is playing like he belongs a bit.

Daily is going to get better...putting more pressure on Ellingson and Williams. This too is a good thing. He can glide, and defend...

Kriener might be fine in a couple years too, get some boards, bang around. With a roster this deep it's all up to attitude probably, as to if they are each patient for playing time. Never know with injuries what happens to. I don't see Uhl transferring this late in his career. Doesn't make much sense. The 6 minutes Williams got the other night should be a big wake up call for sure.

I bet we lose two. Probably Kriener and either Williams or Dailey

Kriener would be an easy pick if he wasn't an Iowa boy. He might want to be a hawk so bad it's worth being a bench player. I think Dailey has a big role when Jok leaves. We will have Moss, JB, Williams, Ellingson, and Connor. That isn't much competition.
