Couple quick thoughts...

I have been a season ticket holder, and a fan for more years then I would like to admit. Iowa has a QB, I have not been as excited about a QB at Iowa in sometime. I am very impressed with his poise, mobility and ability to convert 3rd downs. Just wondered what the rest of the Nation...thought?

Good pocket sense, good mobility, just improve those int's but that will come with experience. Good that Iowa might have a multi-year starter.

I think he's got the most potential of any Iowa QB since Drew Tate. Looking forward to watching his development.

The passing offense is still weak. But it is better than last year. Jake has surpassed most expectations. There is so much upside to his play. Bodes well for the future. He is helped by a solid running game.
The defense has really started to show itself. The much maligned defensive line is getting better every game. They could be outright scary next year. Special teams still need some work. King is getting some much needed reps but at a cost. We need ....whoever he is replacing back.
Overall the Hawks are showing an upward trend. They aren't going to compete with Ohio State yet but they can't be overlooked either.

Just 5 games in, it's evident we are already stronger at QB than last year at this time, with no disrespect to JVB.

I'd hoped for this but didn't expect it, so it's a real nice surprise and will be a difference-maker in close games.

Jake thoroughly outplayed an upperclassmen with 11 starts under his belt and Jake was on the road.

The Oline is doing a great job of run and pass blocking and really helping out.

The receivers are getting better and making more plays.

Jake is playing pretty calm and under control besides all the other comments mentioned about him.

It would help if they could cut down on the dropped passes......just way too many. Looks like Hamilton is starting to emerge.

I wrote about it in my gamer. He's the best young QB since Tate and then go back to Long.

How did he sit all last year with the poor play of JVB? He must have eaten some magic beans this summer. That's the only explanation that doesn't make my head spin.

Greg Davis is an unbelievably good QB coach. Rudock has made awesome progress since last year. Give him two more years to learn under Davis and he'll be a high round draft pick. I can't wait until Davis gets a 4 or 5 star QB at Iowa. The Hawks will score 50 ppg.

only criticisim is that he holds ball too long sometimes...when rolling out and his receiver is draging across field. He hits the receiver one step out of bounds - seems like every time. -

We need WRs. I know this is a dream, but can you imagine Ruddock with Mizzous WRs? A couple 6'4" 220 lb 4.4 guys? With Weisman. Oh, but I can dream.
But Ruddock is going to be a flat out stud. I am really excited to see him develop.
