Very cool article on Josey Jewell from last November. Really describes who he is and what makes him drive. No doubt the upbringing and work ethic he had growing up on the farm translated into his work ethic as an athlete.

I suspect he will do very well in the NFL and he will enjoy gobbling up those NFL dollars.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't doing well.. The guy is going to have a great NFL career. The fact Denver happens to be his childhood fav team has to be icing on the cake for him. It's pretty nice when great things happen to great people.

All the veterans on the team love Josey. He is impressing the coaches and the media out here and I would be very surprised if he doesn't get playing time. Goes fishing with Peko and a couple other veterans. Good team mate.

Jewell is a hell of a person and a hard worker. He deserves everything that he gets from here. When the games are over and life goes on Josey is one of the guys that reminds you what the best nature of college athletics is all about. He is one that makes you proud of Iowa.

When I try to be mad at Kirk for his shortcomings, it is guys like Jewell that came from humble origins that Kirk's program found, believed in, and developed into a fantastic player and even better young man, that make it hard to stay mad.
