Connor McCaffery - Class of 2017 Vid

I'd take one Bryce Alford over ten Connor McCafferys.

I haven't seen either of them play, but I would think a scholarship player from UCLA might be able to take an incoming high school freshman from Iowa. I'm sure he will be a great player, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will play for Iowa. Both of his parents have basketball connections throughout the USA, and they might want to kick him out of the nest. There are some parents that might think its best for their kids to live their lives after a certain age. It sounds like they are great parents, and they might want him to try his wings.
Hopefully, he will be playing for his dad at Iowa. If he does that means Fran will still be at Iowa.

If my watching Iowa football has taught me anything, it is that if a coach has a good season after turning around a struggling program, you better get him signed up for life. I suspect that if we make the tourney next year, Fran will become the second highest paid BB coach in the conference and will be under contract through 2030 or so.

Anyway, I can look at that kid and tell he is going to be better than that McDermott kid at Creighton, who was also a coach's son. HoopScoop has him as the number 100 player in his class and HoopScoop is pretty much always right, so if we can lock down a top 100 player right now, we might as well get a verbal out of him now.

I'm pretty confident that a college senior on a basketball scholarship, McDermott, is better than an incoming high school basketball player. I really don't see why your set on knocking an incoming high school basketball player. I guess your just one of those haters.

I'm confident that most college seniors are better than 14 year olds, too. That's why I said "going to be better." I can see the talent. HoopScoop has the kid in the top 100. In case you don't follow recruiting, many teams live and die by the number of top 100 recruits they get and we seem to have one in the bag, so I'm happy. I'm not sure how you could conclude otherwise.

I see nothing but smooth sailing ahead for Bryce. One day soon, he may be as beloved by the Bruin fan base as Saul Smith is in Big Blue nation.

Absolutely he will. Wait until his playing days are over and he takes an assistant coaches position on Alfraud's bench. Bruin Nation will be trying to figure out where to put the statue.

Do you have any info you can link in regards to the camp? How many states/players were there that kind of thing?

Yes I linked it on one of the first posts.

EDIT - No, I didn't. Well, I did, but the site did not show up. I took the quote from it. I will edit that post and add the link. Basically they take the Top 120 players from the midwest in the fresh/soph class and they ball for a weekend.
