Confidence

I don't know... I had confidence against Tennessee and then the rose bowl and again with florida and every time I was done watching after first quarter and sank back into delusional hawk depression thinking next year.....Fu**in next year......
I didn't like that Rose bowl game from the moment it was announced.
I think we've got this one. Iirc they had some injuries in their safety/DB spots. I expect our wr's know now that blocking in the secondary can allow larger chunks in the running game. Which sets up nicely to catch their secondary out of position in the passing game.
If called correctly and our lines put on their big boy pants, I think we are going to have a fight on our hands, but we should and can win this one.

Well, Kentucky beat them.

Great point. Kentucky had a good team this year but they really struggled at times offensively. I don't know anything about their game vs. MSU but they must have been clicking pretty well. Kentucky might be the best comparison to Iowa of any team on MSU's schedule.

That said, I don't have a good feeling about this game. I just don't see us being able to score enough points. I fear that we will have to settle for FG's and at some point, their offense will break through and get TD's on us. And that could happen after we get worn down. I would put my confidence level at 25%.

It's all about change. Opportunity awaits for yet another SEC beatdown or shifting our trajectory and begin a new path for the Iowa football program.

Which way?

If this turns into another Northwestern type game I think we got it. We won't lose a second one of those in the same year.

Have they had to come back from double digits late in any of their victories? Maybe, like South Carolina in '09 and Georgia Tech in '10, getting up early is the way to victory. It still remains to be seen if we can handle their mobile dual threat QB.

And how has MSU done against zero dimensional teams like Iowa?
Looks like we got a couple more dimensions than you envisioned, as we usually do.

Why don't you go back to your dimension, the Twilight Zone.

At least I've already owned up to earlier posts on the game thread.

This crow entre is exquisite.

I didn't see a victory either, not without Fant or the threat of Fant, and nothing about that first quarter encouraged me to think any different.

Fortunately, I don't dress in a black and gold uniform. I do, however, find crow to taste delicious when the Hawkeyes shove it down my throat.

You really can’t blame people lacking confidence. Vegas had us at -7. Not to mention there was so many fluky things in this game for both sides. It was just a strange game all around.
