Clowns suck!

Don't know about that. Especially if Kempt can't play.
Yeah, I guess so.

Since we beat them then I’d prefer they would win the rest of their games since

we know that if this is a special season, we are going to hear how weak Iowa’s schedule is.

90% of the isu fans at the game had their "Beat Iowa" shirts on which proves their obsession with us and this is their Super Bowl. I saw Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds t-gaiting in the Kinnick parking lot wearing Cyclone gear. I almost went up to her to tell her the clones were going to loose today and that she would loose in November. I guess she is an isu grad.

That's just a given that we'd hear that. We play in the west and that will be an excuse used over and over.

I think you would have really confused her with all this talk of loosing.

BryceC, what are your thoughts on the game? When your cyclones took that opening drive and marched right down the field and scored 3, man, I was worried. I think a lot of ISU fans thought they would win this one. I thought it could go either way. Everyone says our offense sucked, but maybe ISU has a pretty good defense.

ISU is more lenient on drunk driving.

Its my opinion. I watched the game. They are as talented. Is our O-line better? Are our DB's or LB's better. Where is YOUR tangible proof? Are their WR's better? You are telling me we are better based on poor offensive line, qb and WR play? Proof? Just cuz? Our D-line is better than their O-line. Got news for you, our D-line is better than our O-line? Their RB is clearly the best RB in the matchup. This game played 10 times is 5-5 or 6-4 Iowa. They are as talented. Eye test.

Felt really good after that drive. I didnt think they would win but I definitely expected them to play better on offense.

Iowa State does have a pretty good defense but Iowa left a lot of opportunities out there especially with the short field.

Way less talented ISU teams have beaten Iowa, so to say that because ISU kept it close that they are as talented means nothing. Point out where I was wrong instead. Iowa has the better OL, TE, QB, DL and secondary. That doesn't mean ISU doesn't have talent, just they lag behind Iowa's talent at those positions.

I would say those are pretty accurate. Going in I would probably put the secondary as a slight ISU lean. The ISU corners are a little better but Iowa gets the nod at safety with Hooker. Maybe its a toss up, both secondaries should be really good units.

I don't care how good they are. I don't care if they win the rest of their games. I don't care if Oklahoma comes to Ames and hangs a 50 burger on them. I don't care if TCU beats them like a rented mule. Iowa is done with them for the year.

Ditto.
There seems to be a number of Hawk fans on this site who are trying to elevate the status of the ISU Program to the level of the Hawkeyes. Absurd. The Iowa program has withstood the test of time. ISU will have a year here and there when they have an average to good football team but more years than not, they will be bad. Over a hundred years of history is a pretty damn good sampling. Iowa has finished in the top 10, associated press football rankings 22 times with 13 of those being in the top 10. Iowa has also played in six Rose bowls and two Orange Bowls. Iowa has 25 current players in the NFL. ISU has 2, top 25 finishes in the final A.P. poll. None in the top 10. ISU has NEVER played in a New Years Six bowl game. ISU has 4 current players on NFL rosters. Not really sure why there are so many Cyclone "ass kissers" on this site. They must not realize that each and every Cyclone fan hates Iowa with passion. Many will pretend otherwise while in your presence, but the hatred is deep and real.

I can honestly say that I felt good after the first drive as well (but a little scared at the same time). Yes, ISU shoved up our butts, but I knew Phil would make adjustments, ISU only got 3, and Iowa has always had the philosophy of making teams make repeated long, sustained drives to score, which is very hard to do no matter the level of teams.

Also, was thinking that I'd like to take ISU's Mike Rose and Iowa's Djimon Colbert back to Hayden Fry's days and run the old 5-2. Really enjoyed watching those 2 freshmen LB's play. Couple of studs that I think haven't gotten enough attention.

When a team like ISU blitzes so much they are rolling the dice. This is how weaker ISU teams have beat the hawks over the last 20 years. When Iowa's offense can handle the blitz they win and can win big. Last saturday Iowa had some runs that could have broken big and a few passes that could have broken big.

That non-PI call was terrible and would have put the hawks at the 6 yard line. Iowa's very inconsistent passing game did not help. If the hawks were clicking passing the ball against 6-7 man blitzes they would have burned ISU.

But ISU took the gamble and won on it most of the time. By the 4th qtr Iowa's Oline was giving Stanley more time and he performed and the receivers caught the ball

I guess I just view it as ISU has good WR and an accurate QB, and they did ZERO damage against us in the passing game. Not only that the little damage they did came underneath heck they didn't even test our secondary. Iowa on the flip side doesn't have very good WR and they did more damage in the passing game than ISU did. The biggest play of the game was a WR from Iowa who has done nothing to date, burning ISU best player in the secondary.

It is a one game snap shot, so maybe ISU will be as good as Iowa back there, but I really like our secondary. Heck I didn't even touch on how well our CB's are tackling. MJ stuffed Montgomery a couple time, and Hankins stopped 2 guys on the 2 yard line to save TD's and he was giving up 50 lbs to one of them.

If how ISU does the rest of the way matters for us to get in the playoff I suppose I'd care about how they do then. But as it sits I take joy in watching them suck. I don't wish for their success overall. OK can destroy them and they can go on to be terrible this year and I'd be down with that.

I wonder how bad ISU would have to be for Iowa to drop the series with them (which would be best for us) I'm still of the mindset our non conference games need a boost and ISU being as mediocre and strait up as bad as they often are does us no good. They need us but they do nothing for us. Lots of other schools can provide us with what they do. We need games that help us look good for when we win or lose. Not look bad or indifferent either way...

I've said this a million times, but ISU would be better off without the game too. ISU should be playing 3 Incarnate Words every year.
