Clayborn to plead guilty

I also didn't mention the 40+ post thread regarding Kirk's integrity when it comes to suspending players in trouble.

Hmmm... I guess integrity is suspending a starting db for two practices, but making sure he can come back to play against the powerhouse that is Army.

Oh yeah... did I mention that the person in question also failed the drug test he took just a few weeks later???

ISU loves to bash the hawks.. but the same ethical values don't apply to them.. funny how that works.

I heard a vague story that involved the cabbie spewing the N word in Clayborn's direction. Like i said it was a vague story but that is what i heard as the basis for Clayborn hitting the guy, or doing whatever he did to the guy

Justice was done. Spewing the N word should be punishable by punch in the face from Clayborn.

What's really funny is that on a Hawk message board this story is getting 10 replies but on the clown message board it has 45...

It's up to 45 now? Good work out of the arbiters of morality and justice. No doubt some claims that the Johnson county legal system not only favors Iowa athletes, but is in cahoots with the Iowa athletic dept. to delay these things to the offseason.

Should Rhoads have suspended a player who was not even charged?

When he broke team rules later in the year he was kicked off. IMO the situations are a little different. That said I wanted Banks off the team the first opportunity the coaches had.

Not really the point, as Banks was charged. It was "senior level officials" within the athletic department that decided missing two practices was enough punishment.

It is odd that that story just kind of....went away.

Every school favors athletes when it comes to leniance on punishments. I have never understood fan bases calling out other fan bases for how their school handles a certain situation. Ive never understood why ISU fans especially care so much about how Iowa players are handled. Its a weird and creepy infatuation

Kirk Ferentz must disagree with you because he didn't suspend him at all and pretty much said it was a non-issue. He might have plea bargained down to a lesser charge. Who knows?

I thought Kirk's stance on this was he was going to let the legal process play out then hand out any penalties.

He was charged. I read over at CF that he was allowed back on the team because he convinced Rhoads that it was left from the people who lived in his place before him. And I believe there was a source for that piece.

Rhoads should have never bought that crap from Banks... Any apartment/dorm whatever it was gets cleaned after each person who moves out. I am not saying Banks shouldn't have gotten a second chance... I am simply saying that ISU fans like to point at Iowa and they have no right to because every fan base sees their rivals as being so much worse.

I am married to an ISU fan, and she hates Iowa with a passion because of what she views Iowa as. I try to look at it objectively, and I only do so because of my marriage. However, an objective person sees that when people hate the other school, they have stronger opinions when it comes to things like this.

I am honestly curious why so many guys (who don't even know him) are lining up to say what a great guy Clayborn is when he is busy pleading guilty for assault.

I don't know him. He is a great football player, I know that. But until I hear other wise, if he is the kind of guy who goes around jacking cabbies, he seems like kind of a jerk.
He dated my daughter for a couple years...still visits us at home to see our two younger kids. Tailgates with us...his folks are personal friends...he has spoke to all the elementary kids at my school here in Shenandoah...he is a great kid....I KNOW.

Why do we care about what other schools think and some of us are just as bad as there fan base. What ever is or isn't handed down by the coaching staff really isn't any of our business.I'm just glad he's coming back for his Senior year.
