Clayborn earns praise from Tampa coaches

Tampa should be very good this year, and with Adrian and there other additions, the defense has the potential to be much improved.

Good for Adrian!

Isn't that former illannoy d-bag "regis benn" on Tampa Bay? The one who chirped about hating Iowa?
I wonder if AC might have a "come to jesus" talk with that tool.

His name came up a few times in a live blog from Mondays practice, mostly positive:

5:24 p.m.: The part of this workout the coaches and general manager are looking forward to most is the battle up front. Everyone is eager to see how DEs Da'Quan Bowers and Adrian Clayborn and DT Gerald McCoy look. - R.C.

6:02 p.m.: So far the offensive linemen are winning the majority of the one-on-one battles. Adrian Clayborn has been the exception to that rule. - R.C.

6:32 p.m.: Left tackle Donald Penn just took on rookie DE Adrian Clayborn twice in a row in a one-on-one drill and schooled him twice. That's OK. That's how the rookie will learn. - R.C.

6:37 p.m.: Rookie DE Adrian Clayborn may have had some trouble with Donald Penn but Cory Brandon is no match for him. Clayborn just bull-rushed Brandon into the first row of the stands. - R.C.

6:58 p.m.: Talk about intense, LeGarrette Blount, Ty Mckenzie and Adrian Clayborn got into a scuffle on the first play. On the second, S Sean Jones broke up Earnest Graham's flea-flicker psss in the end zone. On the fourth, Gerald McCoy stuffed Kregg Lumpkin for no gain. Not to worry, though. Blount scored one play later. The bad news is McCoy has come up limping and he's flexing his right knee

7:04 p.m.: Another run stuff for the defense with rookie DE Adrian Clayborn and DT Roy Miller leading the way. The battle is even overall, though. - R.C

Tie-breaker goes to the player that recieved an MVP for a BCS Bowl game.

Hawk fans citing the Orange Bowl win as some surrogate for going to the Rose Bowl is as pathetic as clown fan bragging about that period where they won like 4 out of 6 and acting like ISU was better than Iowa because of it. Sorry, but until Kurt gets to a Rose Bowl, he will be an inferior coach to Rod Zook.

yeah but we have never been t-bagged like illanoy was in that bowl.

they were pwned

Yeah, we only got marginally crushed by USC in that first Orange Bowl. I can't remember a game where we've really been humiliated bince ASU 2004. Maybe ISU 2005.

Yeah. 9-3 deserves a rose bowl bid. They made it with a loophole that was in the system that is closed now. One of the worst teams to ever make a BCS bowl along with Connecticut this last year.

Not to mention the fact that Rashard Mendenhall was the reason they were even 9-3. Juice was overrated, and it's difficult to make an impact as a receiver when your QB is shaky (see: everything at Illinois AFTER Mendenhall went pro).
